Her husband was a good man. He worked hard, tried his best to help with the boys when they were younger, and even went to most of their games. Although he loved her, he felt more like a friend with benefits than a man who wanted to care for her. Sometimes she thought and felt like the dominant one in their relationship, and it was something she had never dreamed of.

She liked being feminine and womanly. She liked the doors opened for her, the man holding her hand to keep her from tripping and keeping her close to protect her if needed.

Janessa reached for the remote, turned on the TV, and found a movie she liked. Kevin had never just wanted to sit, cuddle, and watch a show with her. He would always disappear into his den and not come out until he went to bed. She’d be putting the boys to bed and locking up the house, and he was always asleep before she came to bed.

Their sex life had been fine for the first few years but had dwindled off at the end. He hadn’t cared about going weeks, months, or even years without it. She, on the other hand, had learned how to please herself. It worked out because she could make herself come every time, while Kevin would hump her a few times and then come, roll over, and fall asleep. She ended up taking care of herself, which was nothing new. In fact, she preferred it because she didn’t have to pretend to enjoy it.

Later on, in bed, her thoughts ran over the whole evening, and she couldn’t believe how enjoyable it was and how she looked forward to seeing Nick again.

Her hand slid down until she cupped her breast. Remembering the heat from his body and his gruff tone made her panties instantly wet. His musky, manly scent filled her lungs and pushed her arousal even higher. She was embarrassed to think if he had turned her around, she might have fallen into his arms. His large size made her feel dainty and feminine.

His hands had her dreaming about how they would feel on her body. Would he be a demanding lover or a sensitive one? She would bet he was very dominant in bed.

Her hand slid down her torso and under her panties to find herself wet and swollen just from thinking about him. She thrust a finger into her cunt a few times and then pinched her clit, instantly throwing her over.

When her orgasm passed, she lay panting and staring up at the ceiling. Jesus, she hadn’t ever come that quickly and that hard before just by fantasizing. Hell, if he ever did get his hands on her, she’d probably explode.

Chapter Eight

Janessa packed the rest of the cooler and took it out to the Ranger. She didn’t think the guys would take the time to bring anything to eat or drink, so she decided to do it for them.

Luna jumped up on the seat, making Janessa grin. “You’re so sweet but a little crazy, aren’t you, girl?” Luna barked, making her laugh.

She took the back way to Shane’s place and saw the two working hard putting up the fence. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw that Nick wasn’t wearing a shirt. The sun had baked his back and massive shoulders a light teak color, and his muscles seemed more pronounced because of the sweat covering his body. There were several colorful tattoos on his arms, chest, and back and she wanted to study all of them.

Jesus. She needed to keep her eyes off of him because she didn’t think she could keep herself from drooling. That made her grin. She stopped under the nearest tree and turned off the Ranger.

“Hey, guys, are you hungry and thirsty?”

“Hell, yeah. I think my tongue dried out a while ago,” Shane said.

“Well, it didn’t keep you from talking, now did it?” Nick said as he pulled on his shirt and laughed.

She laughed, unpacked the cooler, and laid everything on the tailgate. She was disappointed she couldn’t see his chest more but was also thankful because keeping her eyes off him was next to impossible. The last thing she wanted to do was have goo-goo eyes over a man, especially in front of one of her sons.

“You look pretty, little squirrel,” Nick said.

Shane snorted out a laugh. “What?”

Nick grinned. “As active as she is, she reminds me of a squirrel, so that’s her nickname for now. It could change in the future.”

She rolled her eyes. “Just wait until I find one for you.”

“I can’t wait.”

“Why are you dressed up?” Shane asked.

“I’m in jeans and a shirt,” she said and laughed.

“So?” Shane said. “They’re nicer clothes than you usually wear.”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m going to see Sandy at the bakery, and then I have to stop at the bank.”

She saw Shane stiffen.

“Why the bank?” Shane asked.

“I have some business there. Nothing for you to worry about.”
