Page 1 of Tempting Jada

Chapter One

Jada’s heartbeat thundered in her chest as two huge, tattooed bikers came through the door of the store where she worked. Her friend Kyra was right beside her.

“What’s going on?” she asked.

One of them looked out the window, and the other turned their way.

“We’re taking you back to the compound.”

“What compound?”

Dre looked grim. “The Devil’s Sons. Fury thinks you guys are in danger, and I have to agree with him.”

“Why?” Kyra asked.

“We got word that Dirk has found you and is headed this way,” Dre said.

Kyra looked at her and then turned back to the guy. Jada realized it was the same one that saved Kyra, and relaxed a little. Jada noticed the looks the guy and her friend were giving each other. She could tell that Kyra definitely found him attractive.

“Fuck! Girls, lock yourselves in the bathroom,” Dre said.

Kyra grabbed Jada’s hand, and they raced into the bathroom, shut, and locked the door. They both sat against the wall in the corner and held each other. Jada jumped and pressed a hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming when they heard glass shatter and fighting.

“Oh, God.” Kyra stood and turned off the light, then gave Jada a can of cleaner. “If he gets in, spray him, push him, and then run.”

Jada nodded, and they waited. She jumped again and squeaked when Kyra’s stepbrother pounded on the door and yelled at them.

Where were the two guys at the front? God, could they have been shot? There was a popping sound, and before she knew it, the door flew open.

“Spray him!” Kyra yelled.

They sprayed the chemical in his face, which went up his nose, mouth, and eyes, then rammed into him. Fortunately, he lost his balance and fell. They jumped over him and ran toward the front. A hand came out of nowhere, covered her face, and pulled her back against a hard chest.

“Shhh, I’m Titan. I’m with the Devils. A car will pull up outside, and I’ll get you both into it. They’ll take you back to the compound.”

She relaxed against him, and he turned her around so they were chest to chest and hugged her. She hadn’t known she was crying until then. His considerable strength and masculine scent instantly calmed her.

“You’re okay, Babe. Here’s the car. I’ll see you back at the compound,” Titan said.

Before she could say anything, the other man, Dre, dropped Kyra in his other arm, and he carried them both to the car and shoved them in the back. How could a person be strong enough to carry two adult humans?

She and Kyra sat close together as the two men in front barreled from the parking lot and headed out of town. They braced each other to keep from flying around as they made several sharp turns. The men in front didn’t say anything to them, so they kept quiet.

Jada was so tired. She knew it was partly from fear, but also from guilt. If she hadn’t had her friends meet her at that horrible bar, Dirk wouldn’t have gotten his hands on her. She knew he was in the area for one reason, and that was Kyra, but it still didn’t help the anger at herself.

Her nerves took another dive when they drove past huge gray steel gates.

A few different guys drew them out of the car and toward the back of the house. The guy that held her had his massive hand wrapped around her upper arm, leading and dragging her at the same time.

The men around them were all scary to some degree. It seemed they’d kill someone if you looked at them the wrong way and they were staring at them.

The guy walked her into the kitchen. Her first sight of Amelia and other women she knew gave her a wave of relief, that made her dizzy. The group of women hugged, and one of them laughed, which took the last bit of fear out of her. She had to remind herself that they were safe and with friends. Now, if Lina would get there, it would be even better.

“I’m so glad they got you here safely,” Tara said as she hugged her. “Dirk will never be able to get to Kyra while she’s here.”

Jada heard Kyra gasp when her friend saw the biker that helped Kyra at the bar and then today at the strip mall. She was startled to see he was covered in blood. She pressed her hand over her mouth to keep from crying out for him. She hated to know he got hurt helping them.

Someone circled her upper arm. Jada looked up to see the other biker who helped them.
