“So, that means we’d like to remind you how important the first rule of the club is,” Fury said. “Never under any circumstances are any of you to leave the compound without your man knowing and having several men with you.” Fury looked at each woman. “Don’t ever forget that.” Fury looked around the room. “You guys have anything to add?”
Titan shook his head. If Jada had any questions, she’d ask him later.
Fury nodded. “You girls can go get dinner ready.”
The women looked at each other and then the men before they filed out of the room with confusion written all over their faces.
Titan waited a moment after the door closed, then he bent forward, laughing until he had tears in his eyes. They were all losing it, but he could tell they were trying to be quiet about it, so the girls didn’t hear.
Rage wiped his eyes. “How did you keep a straight face?” he asked Fury and Traeger.
“I thought about beating on one of you. It diverted my attention,” Fury said. “I think they said exactly what we were going to.”
Savage chuckled. “You could tell they were all shocked.”
“Do we act normal?” Ax asked.
“Probably. They’ll think we’ve moved on,” Traeger said.
“They never cease to surprise me,” Fury said.
“Yeah, think about how it was before they were here,” Savage said.
Titan and the group he rode with weren’t here before. They’d stop in periodically through the years, but he’d ignored most of it. They were there to do a job, and he wanted it done.
If it was like any of the other MC clubs he’d visited, they had paradise here, and it seemed they all knew and appreciated it. He knew he was pleased to call the place his home.
Chapter Thirteen
Jada leaned away from the door, looked at the girls, and put her finger to her lips. She pointed toward the kitchen and mouthed “Go.”
The women made it to the kitchen.
“Act natural,” Kyra said. “We’ll talk later.” They started putting the meal together. With ten women, it didn’t take any time at all.
Within the hour, they started serving the people in the line. Jada looked at each face of the guys, and she couldn’t tell a thing. She would have thought they were still mad if she hadn’t heard them laughing. The majority of people went through before the women got their plates and went to eat at the table in their personal family room.
“Okay, I can’t wait anymore. What did you hear?” Lindsey asked.
Jada made sure everyone was out of hearing range before looking at the women. “They were laughing.”
“Laughing?” Tara asked.
“Yeah. And it sounded like they were laughing hysterically because a few guys had tears. They were trying to hold it in so we wouldn’t hear,” Chelsea said.
They were all silent for a moment as they ate.
“I would love to know what they were talking about,” Lina said.
“I did hear someone say that we said the same thing they were going to,” Amelia said.
“Men are stupid,” Zoe said, making them all laugh.
“Who wants to mess with them the way they did us?” Tara asked.
Kyra smiled. “How?”
“We pretend we’re all sad. They’ll ask us why,” Jada said.
