“We’d all probably laugh. Not in front of them, of course, but we wouldn’t take them seriously,” Rage said.
Titan agreed with that. “Maybe we should actually praise them for coming up with the idea that the guy had probably hurt people and then investigated it. If she’d come to me and said the guy gave her the creeps and she thinks he hurts people, I’m not sure I would have taken it seriously.”
“Fuck it,” Fury said. “I agree with you. But we can’t have them thinking we applaud them or encourage this behavior, even if we do, or they’ll keep doing shit like this.”
“How do we stop a group of women like ours from doing what they think is right?” Crush said. “Good luck stopping my Chelsea. She’s liable to coldcock you.”
The guys laughed.
“What if we say we think what they did was wonderful, and we know they’ll do things like this again? But there will never be a time that they can leave the compound without their men knowing and having several men with them. If they break that rule, their asses are toast, no matter the reasoning,” Traeger suggested.
“That’s good. Besides telling them they did good, we’ll reinforce the club’s number one rule,” Fury said. “Are we all in agreement?”
Every man nodded.
“Good. It’s about time to start dinner. Does one of you want to go get them? We’ll talk as a group, and then they can go start the meal.”
“I’ll get them,” Savage said and left.
Titan watched the girls file in. They were all subdued and stood in a tight group together. Jada looked his way, and he could tell she was relieved he was there.
Fury stood up. “Girls…”
“Before you say anything,” Lindsey said. “We talked…”
“If you’d listen…” Fury said.
“And we think we don’t deserve to get punished.”
Tara broke in. “How many police departments in how many states have looked for him, but because of Jada, you guys call it a gut feeling where we call it women’s intuition, we got him.”
“We know that.” Fury sighed.
“We think you guys should be proud of us,” Ella said.
Titan fought hard to keep from laughing at the look on Fury’s face as he kept getting interrupted.
Amelia stepped closer to him on the other side of the desk. “We love you guys with our whole hearts, but we think you treat us like children, and we’re not. We have ideas just like you, and we like to talk to each other about problems, just like you guys. That doesn’t mean we wouldn’t come to you after we took the support and time that women need to get their heads on straight. You guys should be proud of us.”
Amelia stepped back into the circle of women, and a few held her hands. Titan could tell they were all nervous. He waited to see what Fury would do.
Fury sighed dramatically and nodded. “You girls are right.”
“We are?” a few of them cried out.
“Yes. I think I can speak for the group by saying we’re impressed and proud of what you did.”
Every woman looked shocked. Titan could tell the men were trying hard not to laugh. He had to bite his tongue to prevent himself from losing it.
The women started giggling and hugging each other.
“Wait,” Traeger said and held up a hand. “What is the main concern in our lives?”
“Us being safe?” Tara asked.
“That’s right. You women are what make our lives as good as they are,” Ax said.
The men nodded.
