“Yeah, and what do we tell them?” Ella asked.
Jada looked around the table. “Why do we have to tell them anything?”
“What do you mean?” Tara asked.
“We can tell them we’re just tired, which they won’t believe.”
Harley giggled. “We could say the day wiped us out.”
The women laughed.
Amelia snickered. “I love the ideas, but they won’t fall for it.”
“And it will drive them crazy,” Chelsea said.
“Traeger won’t leave me alone until I tell him,” Tara commented.
“Yup.” Lindsey grinned. “We’ll keep them in the dark as long as possible.”
“Fury will get me so horny, I’ll tell him anything.”
“What will our answer be?” Zoe asked.
They all thought about it.
“I think we have to say something close to the truth,” Tara said. “Maybe we think they’re not telling us the truth about how they feel, and we don’t want them mad anymore.”
Jada nodded. “Oh, that’s good because it’s all true.”
The women agreed and would come up with their own versions.
“Will we ever tell them we heard them laugh?” Ella asked.
“I vote no. We must take every bit of information and keep it between us. If they knew we were listening to them, they’d make sure to watch the next time, and then we’ll know nothing.”
Jada agreed with Tara.
They finished eating.
“Since we can’t go outside, how about a movie?” Amelia asked.
It would keep her mind off Titan and the talk they needed to have. “Sure.”
“Let’s get cleaned up, and then we’ll come back in. Whose turn is it to pick the movie?” Tara asked.
“Zoe’s,” Amelia said, and they all groaned.
“Hey!” Zoe said. “My movie picks aren’t that bad.”
Tara snorted. “They’re always the B movies or bloody.”
“It’s better than the one Lindsey wants to watch over and over,” Zoe said.
“You guys, it has Aiden Quinn in it, and he gets naked,” Lindsey said.
“He does not,” Harley said.
“Just about.”
