“Then I say you go, but make sure you tell a few guys on the way that’s where you’ll be and stay together,” Amelia said.

“Sounds good to me,” Kyra said. “We’ll help when we get back.”

“Don’t hurry. We have the organizing, which is about done, and then we’ll put everything away,” Lindsey said.

Jada nodded. Their devised system was great, and they even marked the areas like vegetables in one area and sauces in their own. Baking supplies had a whole shelf because there was so much of it, but that was also organized. It was going to look great and much easier for them.

Jada waved at a few of the guys working on their bikes beside the store.

“Are you supposed to go there today?” Tank asked.

“We think so. It’s on the schedule,” Lina said. “We’re all together this time.”

“We’ll move our bikes to the front and work there. I want our eyes on you the whole time,” another guy said.

It still amazed her how these men could kill without thinking, if it needed to be done. They were so protective of the old ladies. Each one of them, even the ones that were the hardest to get to know because of them, like Buzz, Tater, and Burn. Those were three of the ones that made the girls nervous because they never talked. It was fine that they chose to keep their distance from them.

Chapter Sixteen

“They’re where?” Titan barked.

“At the store.”

Titan threw down his rag and stood. “Who’s with them?”

“Several guys are parked out in front of the store, and the back door is locked,” Bandit said. “They’re safe, but we didn’t know if you wanted them down at all.”

“Fuck, it was one thing we hadn’t talked about. Do you know where Dre and Forger are?”

“In town.”

Titan wiped a hand down his face. “Fuck. Okay, I’ll go to them. If you see Fury or Traeger, tell them what’s going on.”

“You got it.”

Titan walked to the store slowly, giving himself time to cool down before confronting the women. He relaxed when he saw several of his brothers surrounding the building.

“Thanks, guys,” Titan said.

“Hey, they might not be our old ladies, but they’re still ours,” Rider said.

Titan nodded. He understood where the guy was coming from. Every man had been affected by the girls. Most of them hadn’t had a home life, and if they did, it sucked. Living with these women who thrive on caring for everyone did much more for the guys than the girls even knew.

When Titan walked in the store door, every woman was behind the counter checking one of the guys out. It seemed to him that more men than usual were there. The girls saw him but kept working, so he stood off to the side with his arms crossed. The line finally dwindled enough for him to call Jada over. She came and stood in front of him very close, which meant her neck was bent back, and her hands were on his hips.

“Hi.”

One of his eyes rose. “Just hi?”

She looked confused.

“Babe, we still haven’t caught the guy yet.”

“Titan, no one said not to come. The store is our responsibility, so we made sure several men came with us, and the three of us were together this time. We were careful.”

He set his hands on her shoulders. “I want you protected at all times.”

“And we are. We wouldn’t take the chance of running into that guy again.”
