The property would have plenty of room for all of us, and they were doing it in a modern gothic style that I’d fallen in love with when looking over possibilities for interiors. Many of the rooms were going to have dark walls and comfortable surfaces with low lighting, but others, like the sun room, would give us the ability to take in as much light as we wanted. It was going tobe the perfect balance, and more than anything, it was going to give us the privacy we all craved.
Plus, Saint would be able to display all the trophies he gave me in a special built-in case I’d suggested for the office. I figured it would allow him to show them off without scaring any guests, or more importantly, children. Which reminded me, we totally needed to have a talk about all his death and killing comments…
“Finally.” Saint’s voice, speak of the devil, echoed loudly as we walked along a back trail towards our house. “I swear, flower, I thought you were never going to wake up.”
Cy let me down as I rolled my eyes. “Well at least I have a reason for all my sleeping—makes a lot more sense now.”
Saint froze and tilted his head, studying me, before his smile grew into something much softer. “You know. You took the test.”
“You say it like you already knew!” I squeaked as he pulled me into his arms, the others giving us a moment as they made their way down the path. “But yes, I’m pregnant.”
Saint’s hand came to my jaw as he pressed a soft kiss to my lips, everything around us turning into a hazy lull, before he pulled back and made a slightly amused sound. “I did know. Not only did I know, but Eve was the one who confirmed it.”
I reared back, wide-eyed. “And she didn’t tell me?”
Saint chuckled and intertwined our fingers. “I think she wanted you to be ready to find out. You have to admit, flower, I am amazing at keeping a secret.”
“You are.” I went up on my toes to kiss him again. “Should I be mad you didn’t tell me?”
“Nah.” He lifted me and began walking down the path. “Way too much to be happy about. The idea of little Arabellas and Saints running around makes me way too happy.”
And I knew that—I knew that from the first conversation we’d had.
“I love you,” I said as Saint came to a stop and examined my expression with a softness I knew he saved for me.
“You’re my entire world, flower.”
“For the record,” Zain called out from down the path, “it won’t just be little Saints running around.”
Saint scowled and shook his head. “He doesn’t know that. I do have pretty dominant powers—maybe they will all be like me. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
More than one Saint? Maybe…
“Wait, ‘all’? How many are we talking?” I asked curiously as we went past a very familiar grouping of trees, making my heart squeeze. We were nearly there.
“At least twenty.”
“You sound insane.” Amun appeared literally out of nowhere. “Mental. We will have as many kids as you want to give us, precious.”
“You know?” Saint held onto me as Amun pressed a soft kiss to my lips, chuckling at Saint’s annoyed grunt.
“Yeah, Saint is horrible at keeping a secret. He accidentally told me. Don’t worry, he didn’t tell anyone else,” Amun said.
“And how do you feel about it?” I asked softly.
“I feel like I am honored in so many ways to have you in my life,” Amun said as he ran a hand over my cheek. “And even more so to have you bear our children. You are a true miracle, precious.”
He said it so freakin’… I didn’t even have the world.
“Ourchildren,” Saint scoffed after I kissed Amun again, not minding in the least that I was in the god terror’s arms. We were getting pretty comfortable around one another, even those that had recently joined the team, and I knew it would only get better once we moved in. “Mychildren. All of them will be little Saints, I’m telling you.”
“That would be horrible,” Amun muttered. “But even so, I would love them unconditionally.”
“See, Saint, Amun loves you unconditionally,” I teased. Amun offered me a narrowed look, and I would have responded, but my attention was suddenly snagged by…
Our finished house.
“It’s finished! I can tell it’s finished—I even see curtains in the windows!” I exclaimed, moving out of Saint’s arms. Razar was standing on the stairs looking more than a bit dazed but thrilled, his hand out as if beckoning me forward. I didn’t hesitate to launch myself into his arms, and he caught me easily, my legs wrapping around his waist as he buried his head against my neck and murmured my name.
