“Your mom told me that Phoenix had been looking to transfer into an administrative role.” She tilted her head. “When you left, it was easy for him to follow you.”

“Boy, my mom certainly gave up some family secrets.” He leaned over and kissed the center of her chest. “It’s nice to know she and my dad see that running a business makes me happy.”

Brandi giggled.

He lifted his gaze. “What’s so funny?”

“Oh, I think her exact words were,Every time I spoke with my boy, I felt like he was going through the motions of living. Then he started talking about some girl named Brandi and he sounded like the day he got accepted into Ranger School. That’s when I knew you stole his heart.”

Nelson blinked. “My mother said that?”

“I choked on a strawberry and thought she was going to have to perform the Heimlich maneuver.”

“Both my parents can be blunt.” He moved his lips to her belly as he tugged her jeans to her ankles. “But she’s right. As much as I love owning Blue Moon with my brothers and living here in Lake George, I love you more.” Gently, he pushed her to the mattress.

Her heart hammered against her chest.

He stood at the edge of the bed and removed his clothing. His gorgeous body shimmered in the moonlight.

“I love you,” she whispered. Her breath hitched.

“Good, because I’m never letting you go again.” He eased his hard body on top of hers, gently lowering his weight as he stared into her eyes. “I promise I will protect you, always.” His mouth brushed over hers tenderly.

She couldn’t think of a time in her life when she felt more loved and cared for by a man. Nelson represented everything she could have ever wanted. Ever dreamed of. He’d come into her life when she’d least expected to fall in love, and yet, he’d been exactly what she’d been looking for.

He was kind, considerate, and the most loving creature she’d ever met. He loved her like she was the most important person in his life. He treated her with respect and more importantly, he’d been open and honest where it mattered the most.

It scared her how quickly they’d fallen in love and much she’d come to need him in her life.

She savored every touch of his hands. Every kiss of his lips against her skin. He knew exactly what she wanted. What she needed. What she desired.

And he didn’t hold back.

Settling between her legs, he thrust deep inside.

She arched her back, accepting his length, begging him to bring her over the edge.

He lifted his chest from hers, bringing his hand between their bodies, finding her hard nub and rubbing gently as their bodies rocked together in the purest form of love.

Holding his gaze, she let her orgasm take over. Her body shivered. Her toes curled. Her lungs burned as she gasped for breath. “Oh, God. Yes.”

He buried his face in her neck, moaning as his climax slammed against her, exploding like a million firecrackers.

Her vision blurred. “Nelson,” she whispered. “I love you.”

“I love you back.” He collapsed to the side, pulling her with him, holding her tight, his fingers dancing up and down her spine. “Do you think your dad’s going to let you move a satellite office up here sooner? Because long distance is going to suck.”

She laughed. “After meeting you and seeing us together, he’s softening on the idea.”

“I’m glad I made a good impression. I’ve been worried they were going to hate me because of all this.”

She propped herself up on his chest. “They told me they can see why I’ve fallen in love with you.”

Both Nelson’s brows shot up. “You told them you love me?”

“I didn’t have to. They could see it.”
