Those sea-green-blue eyes I adored darkened. “Then we’d better hurry.”
He looked around the pool area, where a handful of people were swimming or lounging. “Come with me.”
He held out his hand. After slipping on my flip-flops, I grabbed my purse and took his hand. Sizzling satisfaction slid through my fingers.
He tugged me out of the pool area, and the stuffy, chlorine-heavy air gave way to the much cooler air of the hotel hallway. My skin rippled with the change.
After glancing up and down the hallway, he pulled me into an alcove where ice and vending machines hummed. He leaned against the wall and swept my body flush against his. The warmth was so immediate and welcome, I sighed.
“We only have a few minutes before Chloe starts asking for me,” I whispered, my lips an inch away from his dark stubble.
“Then I won’t waste a second.” His thumb brushed over my damp cheek. He leaned closer and pressed his full lips to my ear. “I believe this belongs to you.”
His arms wrapped around my waist like smoldering bands of steel. I clung to his neck as his lips caressed the bare slope of mine. He hugged me like he hadn’t seen me in millennia, like he was made to hold only me and he’d been deprived of it for too long.
No longer chilled, my body was ablaze. It was heaven. Sheer heaven.
My cheek rested on the soft t-shirt covering his hard shoulder, and I closed my eyes. What would it be like to live here? Or at least fall asleep and wake up right here on this shoulder, in these arms?
I sure as hell was going to need more than two minutes to find out. My phone was already vibrating in my purse. The good friend in me condemned the idea of upsetting Chloe’s bridal party weekend plans. But…
Flynn rubbed his knuckles up and down my spine. “We should go, sweetheart.”
“I don’t want to. I just need one more minute.”
He pulled back enough to smile down at me. “I’ll always need one more minute with you. But we may have very few of those if we wreck my sister’s schedule.”
I sighed. “Fine.”
I stepped away from his beautiful, spicy warmth, forgetting to hold my towel together. It fell away, and my wrist was suddenly ensnared in a tight grip.
Flynn’s hungry gaze swept over my half-naked body before he yanked me back to him. “Thirty more seconds,” he growled.
We went from a spark to an explosion in a heartbeat. His mouth devoured mine. I seized fistfuls of his t-shirt to drag him closer to me. He whirled us around and backed me up against the wall. His tongue dipped and swirled while his fingers raked down my chest and stomach, stopping to twist the little bow on my bottoms.
I hooked one leg around his hips until his hard center crushed my soft, aching one. He growled into my mouth and cupped my butt. He rocked into me, and I whimpered.
My purse thudded on the floor, startling us apart.
He huffed out a laugh. “I think that’s our cue,” he panted.
I smiled. “Better that than a search party.”
His heartbeat drummed under my fingertips. My own threatened to outpace it, and my chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath.
I dropped my leg, and he backed away. After slinging my purse over my shoulder again, I quickly readjusted my swimsuit and towel.
“Walk me up?”
He shoved his hands in his pockets. “I shouldn’t. I’ll grab a soda. Give you a head start.”
I nodded, still feeling flushed from head to toe. Hopefully, the walk and elevator ride to my room would change that. “See you at dinner?”
“Wouldn’t miss it.”
Biting my lip, I tucked my chin and hurried past him before I could even think about reaching for him again.
My flip-flops slapped against my heels as I hurried to my room. I shot off a quick text to Chloe saying I was headed up.
