When I got to the room I was sharing with Gina, she, Chloe, and Sarah were already there and back in their regular clothes.

Sarah eyeballed me from where she lounged on one of the beds. “Didn’t get lost, did you?”

I smiled. “No, just took my time. Be right out!”

Gina smirked at me, and Chloe gave me a smile tinged with sadness. But I couldn’t question why. I needed to focus, focus, focus on being a good bridesmaid and friend tonight.

After getting dressed at lightning speed in black leggings and a loose glitzy green top, I combed through my damp, tangled hair. I swiped on some makeup, even though my cheeks were still a bit pink and my lips looked plump and red.

How was it that ravaging Flynn in an alcove could make me look as beautiful as he made me feel? It was like magic. Sex magic. I giggled to myself, making a mental note to pass that tidbit along to Gina later.

I hurried out of the bathroom and slipped on my flats. “Ready!” I said brightly.

“Perfect, let’s go!” Chloe led the charge out of the room.

Out in the hall, we ran into the guys, who were also dressed nicely and laughing about something among themselves.

My heart ballooned at having so many of my people together.

We jostled into the elevator, and Louis hit the button for the lobby. A collection of colognes and perfumes filled my nose, but only one sent a flutter through my stomach. Sandalwood and spice from the man pressed against my back. My friends’ chatter filled the elevator, but I was deaf to it when familiar fingers drifted down my arm.

Flynn whispered in my ear, “Sit by me at dinner.”

FLYNN

I loved long tablecloths.

I’d never truly appreciated, or cared about, them until tonight. But seeing the long black tablecloths on every table in the steakhouse sent a wicked thrill through me.

Perfect.

As our group crowded around the long table set aside for us, I stuck close to Rose and pulled a chair out for her. She sat down, smiling up at me, and I casually trailed my index finger over the back of her bare neck.

Damn, I loved her short hair and how it left that sweet neck open.

She inhaled sharply but kept her back straight and her focus on everyone else at the table. I sat next to her, and Gina sat on her other side.

Chilled glasses of ice water, rolled silverware, and menus were already laid out on the table, and a server stopped by to take our drink orders and list the specials.

After he left, Rose smiled at Chloe, who sat across from her. “So what movie did you pick for tonight?”

“I thought I’d go funny and raunchy with Bridesmaids,” my sister replied. She shot Gina a mock glare. “Better than Runaway Bride.”

Hunter looped his arm around the back of Chloe’s chair. “Yeah, what are you trying to do? Give her ideas?”

Gina rolled her eyes. “It still has a happy ending. Well, if you’re Richard Gere’s character. What movie did you pick?”

Hunter glanced at Wyatt. “Dealer’s choice.”

“Please tell me it’s not The Hangover,” Gina said with a challenging look at Wyatt.

He snorted. “No. And I only ever watched that because you told me to.”

“I wanted to see if you liked it or not. So which one?”

He leaned forward, wearing a smirk unlike any I’d seen on my friend before. “I picked Return of the Jedi since I just got it back from you.”
