"Enquiring minds need to know."
"Emine." Aydin ruffles his daughter's head who beams back up at him. "And I had to give you something, you were naked!"
I turn to Ginny. "I was naked?"
She starts laughing again, and Aydin joins in. "You were wandering around looking for the shower."
"Oops." I scrunch up my face, and embarrassingly, I start to giggle. "I'm sorry about all the naked, but at least it clears up one of the many Scooby Gang mysteries I've had so far this morning."
"Hit me up, Velma. I'm sure I've got an answer for any and all mysteries."
"Why am I Velma?"
"Would you rather be Daphne?"
"Forget about it… So, why I was asleep outside?"
"Did you know there is real medical evidence that suggests it is very detrimental to your health to drink when you're jetlagged?"
"That's the most sensible thing you've ever said to me, but still it's not an answer." I turn to Aydin for answers. "Why was I asleep outside?"
"Well, after we got you dressed you sang a particularly soulful rendition of that Bieber song, you know the one—"
"I didn't think I knew any of his songs."
"We were all a little surprised to learn that you're a closeted 'Belieber.’" Aydin widens his eyes in mock seriousness, then laughs. "Anyway, you fell asleep, so I carried you back to your bedroom. Ginny do you have anything to add?"
"I found you on the terrace just before dawn, with Betty snuggled in beside you. You were both snoring happily so I covered you in a blanket and went back to bed."
"I think there might be a pretty big gap there in the middle." I join in with the laughter at my expense. "I was just so tired."
"Jetlag is the worst. The last time I was in London I went out for a drink with the girls then came home... to my bedsit that I no longer lived in! I took a bus and then the Underground and sat outside the building thinkingsomething's not right here. Meg finally turned up and took me back to where I was actually staying."
"I slept surprisingly well, all things considered."
"And your hangover?"
"What hangover?"
"Oh, that's right." Ginny smirks in that hell-yes-you’re-hungover-but-are-too-proud-to-admit-to-it way and turns her attention to Aydin. "No-one in Liv's familyevergets a hangover. It's some kind of crazy Russo family creed that they all live by. It's all bollocks but her whole family swear its true."
"You were matching me drink for drink last night, Olive. I can't believe you're not hungover."
"She's a shocker, isn't she?"
“Don’t be jealous, cuz.” I gave Ginny the finger as I eye Aydin's steaming mug. He grins motioning to the coffee maker behind him. I pour myself a large mug of coffee and lean against the wall as I take my first sip. "Oh, thank God."
"Better?"
"Shush, Ginny."
Aydin finishes his coffee and places his mug in the sink before kissing the back of Ginny's head. "I'm off to prep for today's trip."
"Today's trip?"
"Right, yes, Liv. I'm really sorry, darl —" Ginny is looking awfully guilty for someone living in paradise, and I'm suddenly a little nervous about what was going to come out of her mouth next. "— I've got to take Emine to school. I'm the class parent on Mondays as they have English lessons."
"Okay. Would you like me to come along? I'm happy to just hang out here as well, in fact can I borrow some joggers? I probably should go for a run after everything I consumed last night."
