“I do. But I’m not complaining about you carrying me upstairs.” She giggles.
I take the stairs. She kisses my neck, making me hard. Little does she know I can play that game too. Instead of going to her bedroom I turn and open my door. I walk straight to my bed. I throw her on it. I don’t have to say anything. She is already pulling her shirt over her head. This is one of the many things I can’t live without. She always knows what I want.
“Are you just going to stand there and watch?” She flirts.
“I was thinking about it.” I tell her. She gets out of bed and takes off her leggings. She is left with her bra and panties. I stand in front of her.
“How about less thinking and more doing.” She says.
“On your knees. Suck me dry.” Ava’s doesn’t hesitate. She is the complete package, born to be mine.
Chapter Forty-Two
Ava
Two months later…
“How are you feeling?”
“Like there aren’t enough hours in a day.”
“Breathe. Everything is going to be fine.”
“Easy for you to say, Tina. You're not the one hosting a dinner party for fifty Manarch’s and friends.”
“It will be fine. Don’t fuss.”
I wish I wouldn’t but this is my chance to prove I can be part of this family. I guess a part of me is hoping this with Viktor won’t end. But things have been so shaky with Viktor’s father. Anytime his father walks into a room where I am, Viktor immediately takes me out. It’s like he is avoiding us being in the same room as his father. Which I get, but I hate the stress it’s putting on him.
“He will be here. You know he hates me.”
“My uncle doesn’t hate you. He just doesn’t know you. Once he sees you are smart and wonderful, he will come around.” We both know it’s a lie. But I appreciate her effort.
“I don’t know.”
“But I do. What else is left to do?” I look at the list in front of me.
“The caterers are setting up and Mary is overseeing them. The hired staff is setting up the tent and tables in the backyard. Shit, has Viktor’s tux been delivered?” I panic and leave his office running upstairs.
“Stop running. The last thing you need is to break a leg.” Tina laughs.
I go to Viktor’s bedroom. I’m relieved to see it’s hanging. Suddenly I am overwhelmed and exhausted. A few tears escape. I have no idea why I agreed to this. Then I remember I didn’t.
“It’s just the family. You will be fine.”
“Why did you agree to this?”
“I didn’t have a choice. It’s my turn.”
“But it’s a Christmas party. I would think Anita would be all over it.”
“Normally she would. But I have you. As my bride to be, it is your duty. This is the first of many.”
“I don’t know the first thing about putting a party together.” I sit on the bed trying to control my anxiety.
“This is part of the job.” And there he goes, never letting me forget why I am really here.
“I can’t do this.”
