It’s crazy that a man who has literally kidnapped me and forced me to marry him makes me feel freer than I’ve ever felt before.

“Now be a good girl and smile,” I murmur into Gwen’s ear.
I enjoy the way she shudders, knowing that she’s needy right now for release. She squired in her seat the entire ride over here. I’m going to give it to her later, and once I do, she’ll thank me for it. Because it’s going to feel better drawn out and delayed.
“Screw you,” she mutters under her breath.
I smile at her and place my hand on her back. “Keep talking like that and I’ll leave the belt on you for the rest of the week, not only tonight.”
Her jaw clenches and I can tell she takes my warning seriously as she puts on a fake smile. “Fine.”
I usher her into the event with my hand on her back, feeling an odd sense of pride to have this beauty next to me. She’s exquisite. The most beautiful woman in this place. Scratch that, the most beautiful woman on this planet, and she belongs to me.
“What is this event about?” she asks.
I squeeze her hip softly. “It’s a charity event.”
“As if you give a shit about charity.”
I smile. “I’m not as heartless as you believe, princess.”
“What charity is it?”
“A charity for the homeless.”
“Who you keep homeless supplying them with your filthy drugs?”
I narrow my eyes. “Everyone has free will, Gwendolyne. No one forces them to take drugs.”
“Whatever. I need a drink.” She tries to walk away from me, but I capture her wrist.
“You’re not going anywhere without me.”
She huffs heavily, but doesn’t fight as I lace my fingers with hers and lead her toward the bar.
“What will you have, princess?”
She purses her lips together. “A gin and tonic.”
“Is that your favorite drink?”
She shrugs. “I’m not a big drinker.”
The bartender gives me a pointed look as if to say hurry up and order. “One gin and tonic and a scotch, please.”
She huffs and goes to get our drinks.
“Someone’s grumpy.”
Gwen smirks. “Me or her?”
“Both of you, but you have a good reason, considering how desperate you are to come.”
“Maybe she’s got one on, too.”
