I laugh softly. "Maybe once we're done with this op, my pack will get my something nice to wear, hm?"

Fallon gets up and strolls toward me, putting his hands on my hips while Rafe watches with parted lips. Hawk looks a little uncomfortable--as always, when the guys get distracted by me.

"Doll, we'll get you whatever you fucking want."

"I think this is about whatyouwant," I tease.

"Alright, alright," Hawk says, raising his hands as he stands. "Let's focus."

I nod, grateful for Hawk's interruption. I can't help but feel a little self-conscious under their gaze, even though I know it's all just part of the mission. We need to blend in convincingly if we're going to get close to my father's compound without raising suspicion.

"We ready to do this?" I ask, trying to steel myself for what's to come.

Fallon nods, his grip on my hips tightening. "Let's go show your father what happens when he messes with a pirate king's mate."

With that, we set off towards the city, ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead. I can't help but feel a little thrill of excitement as we approach the compound, the adrenaline coursing through my veins.

This is it.

The moment that will determine whether or not I have what it takes to be a true Enclave rebel.

Fallon

I'vehadthismeticulouslyplanned for weeks, but I never anticipated falling in love with the key to our plan.

We have the blueprints to the Winslow compound, we know exactly where we're going. I'm well aware of the location of the vault room, where Matthias Winslow keeps his secrets and all the data we need to start taking down the ACB.

Jade makes this all more complicated, though.

We go from the marina to a stolen security car, and then we load up with Jade in the back with Hawk. I drive, while Rafe keeps an eye out through the passenger side. We're going to go undercover as ACB agents bringing Jade back home, and we're hoping the guards will allow us in once we send an encrypted radio signal letting them know we're coming.

Jade's presence in the car makes me feel uneasy. Rafe and I have spent countless hours planning this heist, and we had everything under control, but now everything is different. We have a mate, and we're putting her in danger for the Enclave.

Is it even worth it?

I sure fucking hope so.

I know I have to focus on the job at hand, but every time I glance at her in the rearview mirror, my mind goes blank. I can feel the tension building in the car, and I know that if I don't do something about it, things could go wrong.

"Hey, Jade," I say, trying to break the silence. "Do you have any idea what we're getting into?"

She looks up at me from the backseat, her eyes piercing. "I know exactly what we're getting into," she says, looking every bit the ACB heiress. "I lived there, remember? And you've asked me that question about a million times."

I nod, feeling stupid for asking a question I already knew the answer to. But I'm not really asking for information. I'm just trying to gauge her state of mind, to see if she's ready for what we're about to do.

Maybe to give us all an out...but I know Jade won't give us one. She's in, one hundred percent.

The car jolts as we hit a pothole, and I turn my attention back to the road. This is it. We're almost at the compound, and there's no turning back now.

As we approach the entrance, I take a deep breath and press the button on the radio. "This is Agent Daniels. We're here to bring Jade Winslow back home. Please open the gate."

There's a pause, and I can feel the tension in the car mounting.

Then, a voice crackles over the radio. "Agent Daniels, please provide your identification code."

I take a deep breath and glance at Rafe. He nods, and I recite the code we've been given. There's another pause, and then the gate slowly begins to open.
