"What if I have someone on the inside?" I ask. "Someone who can help us get in undetected."
He frowns. "That may have been helpful when we first started the op..."
"I was afraid to talk to her," I murmur. "But now...now, I don't think we have any options. And I hope she'll help."
Hawk raises an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "Who?"
"My mother," I say. "She can help us get in and out, or she might help Fallon and Rafe escape. She doesn't support the cause, but she hates what my father does too."
Hawk's eyes narrow, but then he nods. "Alright. We'll need to move fast, before your father realizes what's going on. Can you contact her?"
I nod, and Hawk helps me sit up. My side protests, but I grit my teeth and force myself to focus. We have to get Fallon and Rafe out, no matter the cost.
"Hawk...why did you prioritize me like that? Why risk your own life to save mine? Why leave them...?"
He hesitates, his eyes flickering away from mine for a moment before he returns his gaze to me. "Because...you're important," he says finally. "To the cause, I mean."
I lick my lips, and he traces the movement of my tongue.
"To the cause?" I repeat.
His eyes dart back up to mine, and he moves just a centimeter closer. I hold my breath, knowing this is a distraction and knowing it's going to happen anyway.
Then he kisses me.
And I realize he doesn't hate me at all.
In fact, he's been harboring feelings for me all along.
The kiss is tentative at first, like he's not sure how I'll respond. But then, he deepens the kiss, and I'm lost in his embrace. The pain in my side fades away, and all I can focus on is the heat of his body against mine, his mouth moving hungrily against mine.
It's like an electric shock, and I can't help but feel a rush of desire shoot through me.
We break apart, gasping for air, and I can see the fire in his eyes.
He's been holding back for too long, and now he can't contain himself any longer.
"I'm sorry," he murmurs, his forehead pressed against mine. "I shouldn't have done that."
But I know he doesn't mean it. I can see the longing in his gaze, the way his body is still pressed against mine, even though we've stopped kissing.
"It's okay," I say. "I...I've wanted this for a long time, Hawk. But we need to get the rest of our pack."
Hawk nods, his expression serious. "You're right. We need to focus on getting Fallon and Rafe out. And then we can talk about...this."
He brushes his thumb over my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. I can't help but feel a sense of comfort and safety with him, like nothing can touch us as long as we're together.
"We'll get them out," he says. "I promise."
I nod, feeling a sense of determination welling up inside of me. We'll do whatever it takes to save our pack, no matter the cost.

Rafe
We'realotmorefucked than I would like to believe.
I've been passed out for fuck knows how long, and I wake up in a concrete box. My wrist are bound behind me, my legs roped to a chair. Even my neck is bound--chained to the floor. I have limited mobility like this, but I glance around to find that Fallon is with me, though he's still unconscious.
