“Really? Never? You’ve never had some eager young man take you to a fancy restaurant in an effort to impress you out of your clothes?” I tease.
She shakes her head, “No. Where I come from, they think they can get access to you with a burger or an ice cream cone.”
“And did they?” I tilt my head and raise one brow at her.
“No, they didn’t,” her face turns white as a sheet.
“Did I upset you? I was only playing,” I explain.
“You didn’t upset me. I just don’t want you to get the wrong impression of me.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t want you to think that I go around sleeping with men for a nice meal or…a place to stay.”
“That’s the last thing I was thinking. I can tell that you’re a good girl but, what are you trying to tell me? Are you saying that you don’t want to sleep with me?”
“No…um,” she fidgets in her seat.
“Spit it out, little girl. Whatever it is, it’s fine.” But it isn’t fine. If she’s telling me she doesn’t want to be with me, I’ll do everything in my power to change her mind. I’ve set my sights on Leah. When I want something, I get it.
She glances around the room as though she’s terrified someone might overhear her. “I’m not saying that I don’t want to sleep with you. I just want you to know that it isn’t because you gave me a place to stay. It’s because I really like you,” she whispers.
I take her hands in mine and look deeply into her eyes, “I really like you, too. I might have given you the wrong idea when I put your hand in my crotch. It’s not about how you look. Well, it’s not all about how you look,” I stop and smile. “You’re the sexiest girl I’ve ever seen but there’s also something very special about you. You’re strong and you have discipline. You have dreams and goals, and you’re sweet and innocent. That’s a rare combination, malyshka, and that’s what turns me on.”
“Thank you. That means a lot to me. I’m not used to getting compliments and that was a big one.”
“Okay, seriously, I have to ask. What’s wrong with these boys where you’re from? They don’t take you out to dinner, they don’t give compliments. Have they ever been out in public or do they live under rocks in a pasture?”
She giggles and says, “They probably started out under rocks and then immigrated to town.”
“So, how did any one of them manage to take you to bed?”
She looks down at her feet and then back up into my eyes and says, “They didn’t.”
No fucking way.
My heart races and my palms begin to sweat. That look right there? The way her crystal blue eyes, big as saucers, are looking into mine as she confesses that she’s a virgin is enough to make me bust a nut inside my dress pants. I want to get up, throw the table out of the way, and take her right here on the floor in front of everyone. She’s got me so amped I don’t know how I’m gonna make it through our dinner.
“Excuse me for a minute,” I tell her and make a beeline to the men’s room. I need to readjust my swollen package and throw some cold water on my face.
“That’s a good idea. I think I’ll go, too,” she replies and so I pull out her chair for her and escort her to the ladies' room door.
My package adjusted, I splash the cool water on my face and look at myself in the mirror. We’ve been playing this game for too long now. It’s time to take things to the next level.
As I exit the restroom, I see Leah standing against the wall in the foyer talking to a tall, fit man in his late twenties. He’s holding a cocktail in one hand and shakily talking with the other. He’s clearly intoxicated and having some trouble keeping his balance. I do my best to compose myself as I approach them. Leah’s got my neurons firing cannonballs, and it would be easy for me to flash out on this guy.
Leah sees me and smiles, “Excuse me, here’s my date. It was nice to meet you,” she tells him and moves around behind him.
He spins on his heels and nearly topples over then looks up at me and says, “Wow.”
“Looks like you’ve had enough to drink tonight. You might want to sit down and order yourself a coffee,” I tell him.
“No, I’m fine. I’m just trying to have a good time, you know?”
I don’t like this little shit. I’ve arrested hundreds just like him. They’re little, rich college punks that can’t hold their liquor or take no for an answer.
“Well, you won’t find a good time with my girl so maybe it’s best that you go find a college bar to pass out in instead.”
