“Get your fucking hands off of her!” the growling man yelled.
I looked up at him. He was fuming. Good. This would be much more satisfying than I thought it would be. Not only will I get her, but I will get to watch him lose her. She obviously meant much to him. And it made me so happy I get to be the one who will show him that she will never be his.
“Why would I stop touching what’s mine?” I yelled back at him and laughed. “I finally got her back. I am keeping her this time.”
“I am so sorry,” I heard my little bird say quietly. “I love you all. Please forgive me.”
She was saying goodbye to them. I was glad she finally realized she belonged to me.
I leaned in and kissed her cheek, catching one of her tears with my lips.
“You taste amazing,” I said. “I can’t wait to try more of you.”
I heard bones cracking and I looked up to see a huge black wolf growling at me. His canines were on display and his eyes were fixed on me.
I smirked. He was not taking her away from me.
CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR – Killing
Warning: description of violence.
Gabriel’s POV
She was saying goodbye to us.
No.
No fucking way.
He was not taking her away from me! Not now, not ever.
My whole body was shaking. I wanted to do something, but I was terrified that the knife would cut her before my spell hit him.
I watched him lean in and kiss her cheek.
“You taste amazing,” he said. “I can’t wait to try more of you.”
That pushed Nick over the edge. Before I could blink, he shifted into his wolf. I had never seen him this angry. He terrified me.
But I couldn’t let him attack. Not yet. He will kill her.
I grabbed his fur with my hand and held him back.
He turned his head toward me and snapped his huge canines.
“Don’t you see a fucking knife under her throat?!” I whisper yelled at him. “Don’t fucking move, Nate! Not yet!”
His black eyes snapped back to that fucker.
“Minnie?” I heard Jacob’s trembling voice call out to her.
What the fuck was he doing? My eyes went from him to the fucker holding my sister. His eyes narrowed at Jacob.
“This is not goodbye,” he continued. “I need you to fight. I need you to use what you found out about yourself. I need you to use it so he will remove that knife and we can take you away.”
My eyes widened. He was right. She needed to use her power. She was the only one who could immobilize his body right now. I can project an image. But he could still use his hand to cut her throat. Even blindly. But if she could make him feel pain and he stumbles, we can jump in.
“He is right, Aria,” I said. “Use it. Use it for pain.”
