Let me kiss you
Let me touch you
Don’t let me long no more
Let me heal your wounds
Pull the thorns from your soul
For others, it’s a mystery on paper
For me, it’s the poetry of flowers
“Oh Kayden, you wrote this about me, about us?” she asked, her brown eyes looking happier than ever.
She was a hopeless romantic and what my girl dreamed of, my girl got.
“Well, it’s actually about Mrs. Collins, our math teacher, but if you want it to be about you, we can think abou-”
Tillie slapped me against the chest playfully, and we laughed.
“You’re such an idiot.”
“And you love me for it, don’t you?” I grinned.
“Maybe, but our biology teacher is-”
I cut her off with a kiss before she could finish her sentence.
Her laughter in our kiss made me feel like everything could still be a dream.
ChapterForty
KAYDEN
Two days later, we arrived at home. It was still early in the morning when I dropped our friends off, and later helped Tillie unload the trunk and carry our bags inside her empty house.
We placed everything in the living room. We were going to unpack later after getting some rest. The train ride had been draining.
“You can go and lay down, I need to talk to my mother, but I promise I’ll be right back.” I quickly kissed her, and she smiled softly.
“Take your time, and call me if you need me, I’ll be right there.” She told me before she walked up the stairs to her room.
I wasn’t sure if they were all still asleep because it was just seven in the morning, so I used my keys.
Entering the house, I was welcomed by my favorite little friend.
“Hey, my boy.” Blake rubbed his back against my leg, letting me scratch his head. “Faith took good care of you?”
“He slept beside me every night.”
I looked up to see my little sister in her pajamas at the top of the stairs.
I walked up to her, knowing exactly it would take her a solid second before she’d fall into my arms.
“Where have you been?!” she cried, hugging me so tight it felt like she wanted to kill me, maybe deep inside she wanted to sometimes.
My sister was always an aggressive nature.
