“He’s happy with us, maybe you should let him be, baby boy.” The guy told me, his voice pitched up when he called me baby boy.

“Kayden, let it be!” Theo called from behind.

“Let us have fun without those idiots.” He popped up beside me and put his hand on my shoulder.

“Yeah, Kayden, let it be, dude,” the guy told me as I turned around, and walked out of the room with Theo by my side. There was no way I would waste my time on those guys.

Theo grabbed two more cups and handed me one of them.

“Man, I don’t think this is a good idea-.”

“Just for tonight, let us be who we want to be. There is no Theo and Kayden, we are just teenagers enjoying a night on a party. I promise, only tonight,” he almost begged me.

It was only a party; I had enjoyed my first time drinking, too. We all needed a time where we could completely shut our brains down. I took the cup from him and drowned it in one go.

“Only tonight,” I agreed with him.

Theo drowned his drink as well and grinned at me. “You know, you mean a lot to me.”

Oh, he was so not Theo right now, and I didn’t know if I liked that version of him.

Our Kiss - September 4, 2022

That first kiss of ours,

The memory plays in my head for hours.

Wrapped in your arms,

Your green eyes bright like the stars.

Your lips on mine,

And everything’s fine.

Wounded people heal one another,

I didn’t have to forget my mother.

Rising on the warmth of your love,

it’s the thermal for a dove.

Never let go of me,

I’d rather drown together in that sea.

ChapterTwenty-Six

MATILDA

The colors of the fairy lights were so vibrant. They made me feel like I was in a movie or, better still, in my favorite song. Of course, Kayden’s songs were my favorite because I absolutely adored his voice, but he hadn’t released a single yet and none of his songs even had titles, so they didn’t count. I think my favorite song wasLike real people doby Hozier. His voice reminded me of Kayden’s, just that Kayden sounds a bit younger. They are both so perfect and sounded like heaven in my ears.

I hummed the melody of the song Kayden had played on the bus, I closed my eyes and smiled to myself.

God, he was so perfect in every way.

“You really are drunk, little cousin, aren’t you?” Autumn asked me while she washed her hands. She didn’t want to go look for a toilet herself and asked me to help her. But there was a girl in here crying because she caught her boyfriend cheating on her with her roommate. She came out of the stall with her face covered in makeup.
