no regrets.

Let me get lost in you forever, Kayden Kidd.

I never believed kissing could feel this heavenly, but I have to admit as well that I never imagined Kayden’s lips would be the first for me to kiss.

We broke off our kiss only to catch our breaths, my heart jackhammered in my chest as we laughed while resting our foreheads on each other’s.

This moment had taken almost seventeen years to arrive.

And there was no chance I’d regret a single second of it.

The sweet bird had finally found its nest.

ChapterTwenty-Seven

KAYDEN

There was my love grinning up at me with her lipstick all smudged from our kiss.

It still felt like one of my dreams, but this was real. Holding Tillie’s face in my hands while she smiled up at me was real.

“Let us find somewhere more private.” Tillie pulled me with her as she ran through the crowd.

“Not so fast, little birdy.” She stopped, and I swung her around, pressing my lips on hers again. I smiled into this kiss, but she giggled and pulled away from me.

“You’ll get more when we find somewhere quiet, Romeo.”

“Nah-ah, I’m not your Romeo, Tillie.”

“You’re not?”

“Besides that, Romeo and Juliet’s love story only lasted five days, both died in the end, and no one is going to die by the end of the week, my love.”

Tillie chuckled, and clasped her hands behind my neck to hold herself upright, or maybe to not lose me to the wave of students crashing into us.

“So, you believe our feelings will last longer than five days?”

“Our feelings will last for a lifetime, Fleur.”

When I leaned down to kiss her again, she pulled away once more.

“I told you, no more kisses till we’re alone.”

“Your wish is my command,” I whispered in her ear, taking her with me while I searched for the brunette who had helped us lock our stuff away.

“Caitlin! Can you unlock the door, I need something from my bag?” The college student was in the middle of kissing another girl when I interrupted her. Now I was the dumbass who was destroying a moment.

Caitlin laughed and pulled her keys out of her jeans, tossing them at me.

“Lock it afterward,” she told me before her lips crashed down on the blond in front of her.

“They are so nice here.” Tillie mumbled while we made our way to the room, where we would probably spend the night together.

A smile spread on my lips.

We could spend the night together, and this time not as best friends. It was a happy thought.

“Not all are nice here, just like in school,” I replied, unlocking the door, already with an excited grin on my face. I pulled Tillie in by the arm and didn’t let a second pass before my lips were on hers again. I could taste the cherry lemonade that must have been in her drink. Her laugh vibrated against my lips.
