“So? That’s quick.”
He smirked, which made her toes curl. “We slept together as well. I think quick explains our relationship.”
She snorted. She knew he’d eventually bring up living together. They were talking about children and marriage, so it was inevitable, but she wasn’t pregnant. And there was no need to rush anything else.
“Just because we slept together and are planning our future quickly doesn’t mean I need to live with you,” she said, giving him a look.
“Fine, then I’m coming to stay at your house.”
“I don’t recall inviting you,” she said with a laugh. Not that she cared. She liked the idea of him staying with her. She also didn’t care if it was for the night or for longer.
“And as much as I love that idea,” she added. “I know you didn’t walk here. What about your car? Or do you plan to take two?”
“I’ll have someone pick it up. I’ve always wanted a chauffeur.”
“Oh, so I went from someone you sleep with to your driver, did I?”
He leaned closer, cupping her face. “God, you’re cute,” he said before he gave her a rough kiss that made her head spin.
They turned to her car. Liam pulled his phone out and called up his sister. She wasn’t excited about the idea of picking up his car but agreed if he brought her chocolate the next time they saw each other.
He opened the car door for her, and she climbed in. She realized she was on the passenger’s side only after she put on her seat belt.
“How am I not driving?” she asked, crossing her arms. “It’s my car.”
“Because,” he said, giving her a wicked grin, “I figured you would like to just relax after a long day of work.”
She felt grateful because, honestly, the last thing she wanted was to put up with the traffic. She definitely had a long day and a meeting with her boss, and neither ended well. She loved her job, but sometimes she hated it.
She leaned back and closed her eyes. She was enjoying it when suddenly she could smell Chinese in the car. She snapped her eyes open, looking over to see Liam grabbing takeout.
She blinked, suddenly wondering if she’d fallen asleep. She thought she’d only closed her eyes for a moment.
“They make some amazing food,” he said as he set the food on the floor. “And I don’t think you want to cook.”
She smirked, feeling her heart skip a beat at his kindness. If this was Liam, she was certain it wouldn’t take long to fall for the man.
She closed her eyes for the rest of the drive home, where Liam parked and helped her out. They headed upstairs to her apartment, and she pulled the door open.
Liam took in her space and nodded. She didn’t have a large apartment, but she made it work. And she loved the way she’d Boho decorated and all the natural lighting.
“Excuse the mess,” she said, locking the door. “I didn’t get to clean the dishes this morning.”
Liam made himself at home quickly, finding forks before they sat to eat. She had a large couch with puffy blankets they settled on, and she turned her TV on for some music.
Liam looked at her after a few bites. “This place is nice.”
“Thank you.”
“It’s really quiet too.”
“Most of my neighbors are elderly, and the ones that have kids are good at keeping them well-behaved. There’s even a cute garden on the roof for everyone.”
She finished eating quickly since she hadn’t had a big lunch, then relaxed for a couple of minutes. Liam finished and started the dishes, which only made her like him even more.
When Liam returned, he pulled his phone out. “So, I was flipping through my phone earlier, and I found a website that has some cute baby names.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “What’s the website called?”
