“It wasn’t bad when it was just a Ford and friend’s fan club.” Ella scoffs.
“No, that was fun; so many people joined. At least half were from other schools. I loved all the comments people would make.” Lydia laughs.
“But then Bree got that newspaper kid involved, and it turned into a stalker website.” Ella huffs.
“Mason wasn’t the original creator of the first website?” I ask, my curiosity getting the better of me.
“Nope.” Lydia shrugs. “There were six of us who started it—me, Ella, Rose Hunt, Melissa, Missy, and Bree. We just did it because we thought you and the other guys were hot. It was an unofficial fan club. It was meant to be fun.”
I purse my lips. “Yeah, fun.” I turn and walk away.
“We deleted it when it got out of hand!” Ella yells as I walk away.
I find Hannah sitting on the sofa singing with June to the song that’s currently playing on the speaker.
“Hey, it’s my boyfriend.” She smiles and stands up.
“Are you still tipsy?” I ask.
“Not too bad,” she says, leaning in and kissing my cheek.
“That’s good. Come with me.” I take her hand, lead her upstairs to my bedroom, and close the door.
“Is everything okay?” Hannah asks, stepping up to me and wrapping her arms around my waist.
“It is now.” I give her a quick kiss and rest my forehead against hers. “You’ll never guess what I just found out,” I tell Hannah about what I heard Lydia and Ella say.
“It explains why Mason was so freaked out about being served that cease-and-desist letter. It really wasn’t his website to shut down.” She sits on the end of my bed.
“The slander charges would’ve stuck, though.” I huff.
There’s a knock on the door, and Leah and Jack peek their heads in. “This room’s taken. You’ll have to use one of the spare bedrooms. Do you need a condom?” Hannah says with a smirk.
Jack’s eyes get huge, and Leah giggles.
“Hannah!” I exclaim.
“I’m just kidding.” She laughs. “Unlock your jaw and laugh, Fitzgerald. It was funny.”
Jack narrows his eyes at Hannah and shakes his head. “How much have you had to drink tonight?” He asks.
“ Just a glass of spiked the sparkling cider.” She shrugs.
“We came looking for you because Melissa and Missy showed up,” Leah huffs, sitting on the bed next to Hannah.
“Where’s Bree?” Hannah asks.
“I’ll stalk her social and see if she posted anything,” Leah says.
“How did so many people find out about the party?” Hannah asks.
“I saw Dave put it on his Snapchat.” Jack shrugs.
“Piper also had a Snapchat about the party tonight. I didn’t realize that was a free invitation.” Hannah laughs.
“Bree’s in Florida. Her mom posted about a family reunion,” Leah says.
Hannah looks at Leah’s phone. “Did she go out of the country, like she said?”
