“Tell him to keep them away,” she hissed at Razor.

“Not your call,” Savage hissed back, obviously hearing her. “Code, I want all cameras activated. Find this bitch. We’ll take her now and get this shit over with.”

If she wasn’t so pissed, she’d have probably rolled her eyes. The man was delusional if he thought it would be over this quickly. She knew Sena, and Sena always had an escape route. She had probably already found the cameras and was out of sight of them. Sena was angry, but she was smart. It was a dangerous combination.

“I’m getting tired of waiting for you to come out, Krissy,” Sena called, sounding bored. “Or are you hiding behind the big, bad biker now? Too scared to handle me all on your own?”

Karissa let out a bark of laughter, ignoring Razor’s sharp glare. She stood, but Razor was on her in seconds, getting to his feet and pushing her back against the tree. “Don’t even think about it,” he whispered angrily in her ear. “You are not walking out there and making yourself a target.”

“And you don’t get to tell me what to do,” she whispered back furiously. “This is my mess, and I’m going to deal with it.”

“No, you’re not,” he growled. “We’re getting you out of here, and we’re going to… ooof,” he grunted when she punched him in the side, hard enough to make him step back and curl in on himself. It also exposed the gun in his waistband, and she grabbed it. He made a grab for her, but she sidestepped him, making him curse.

Karissa moved quickly to another tree, ducking behind it as Sena fired off another shot. “Give it up, Sena,” Karissa yelled. “You’re not going to get me. You want to kill me, you come down here. Stop hiding behind some tree. Hell, maybe up this close you might actually hit me.”

“What, so you can have your biker friends grab me?” Sena sneered. “You expect me to spread my legs for them like you? I never took you for a biker whore, but I guess you weren’t much else, right?”

“Says the one who had a revolving door,” Karissa called back, peeking out from behind the tree as she scanned. Wherever Sena was, she wasn’t super close, so that meant she had to be across the road. She turned her head and hissed at the now-standing Razor, “She’s across the road. Both of you get the hell out of here and I’ll draw her farther away.”

“Not happening,” Razor snarled, his eyes blazing.

“Now is not the time for your macho antics, Razor,” she snapped. “Esme will be back with Gabe any moment, and she’ll be driving the road Sena is currently shooting across. I’m not about to risk them. Now get the hell out of here.”

“No,” he said, running toward her just as Sena shot again, hitting the edge of the tree as he dove behind it with her, breathing hard.

“Fucking hardheaded biker,” she snarled, moving around the tree and firing back. “This is exactly why I don’t want a man. You never listen.”

“And this is exactly why I don’t want a woman,” he returned, peering around the tree again. “Hard headed, stubborn, and a general pain in the ass.”

“Good thing you don’t have a woman then,” she snapped, checking the magazine to see how many shots she had left. “So you’re free to head on out and leave this to me.”

“And prove I’m just like everyone else who’s ever left you to handle shit on your own? I don’t think so,” he snapped.

“How about you both shut the fuck up?” Sena screamed at them.

“I’m about tired of this,” Savage snarled, coming out from behind the tree with his own gun, phone in his hand. “Grab her, brothers,” he ordered.

Sena let out a chilling laugh, and Karissa froze. “You really think I’m going to let you bastards take me? Nice try, I think I’ll be going. But I’ll be back, and next time, I won’t be so nice. Krissy, you have a choice to make. Your life or theirs. I think we both know I won’t stop with the bikers. The blood of their women and children will be on your head. I think I’ll start with your bestie and that little brat of hers.”

Karissa saw red, shoved Razor out of the way, and stepped out from behind the tree. “Touch them, and I’ll make you suffer before I kill you, cunt,” she yelled. She didn’t even flinch when Sena took another shot, missing her completely and hitting the tree to her right. She fired back, shooting until the magazine was empty. The roar of motorcycles filled the air, but she knew there was no point.

Sena was already on her way out of whatever hiding spot she had. Karissa wanted to go after her but instead, she tossed the gun aside angrily, rounded on Razor and snarled, “I hope you all are happy. If you had let me leave, no one would be in danger. Now, I have to worry about her going after Esme and Gabe, and the girls and Ronin.”

Razor’s face was grim. “You’re wrong, because you would still be in danger,” he returned, stalking to stand in front of her. “And that’s not acceptable. Not to me.”

Karissa stared up at him, anger, guilt, and fear all rolling into a large ball in the pit of her gut. “Don’t you get it?” she screamed, going up on her toes so that her face was only inches from his. “I don’t care if I live through this. All I care about is that everyone else is safe, including you. I have been on my own long enough, and I can take care of myself. Now, because you held me here, someone else I care about is going to lose their life. Because she will do it. She will punish me by killing or hurting them. And then I will have to deal with the guilt. Not you. So you can take your white knight routine and fuck right the hell off.”

She turned and stalked away toward the road. She was so done. Done with bikers, done with Sena, done with everything.

Suddenly, she was scooped up and she let out a snarl. Razor tightened his grip as he headed towards the clubhouse. She held herself still, ready to fight, but stopped when he said quietly, “You may not care about being safe, but I care that you are. Just like I care about keeping everyone safe. And I want, noneed, you safe and whole, and I’ll do whatever I need to make that happen. Even if it means you’re pissed at me.” He stopped and looked down at her, eyes serious. “I’d rather you be pissed off than dead.”

CHAPTERFOURTEEN

RAZOR

“All brothers back in Church!” Savage hollered as soon as they all entered the clubhouse. Razor turned to tell Savage he needed to see to Karissa, but Savage stopped him by saying, “Bring your Old Lady in too. We’re going to be having a discussion.” His tone was a warning, so Razor didn’t argue.

He saw a few wary glances between some of his brothers, while Jax and Ink both looked amused, almost like they were excited for whatever came next.
