She let out a yelp and then a moan when he brought his hand down hard on her ass, heat quickly chasing away the sting. Her arousal went into overdrive when he growled, “The only one who is going to be touching your pussy is me, baby, and you’ll be feeling me for days when I’m through with you.”
“Less conversation, more action, big guy. If I’d known you were going to… oh fuck,” she cried as he pushed roughly inside her, filling her and jolting her forward. He didn’t stop to let her adjust; he got to work on driving her insane.
His hand wrapped around her hair, pulling her back, making her muscles clench and clamp down in response as he powered inside her. Her breathing came in gasps and pants as he fucked her the way she needed. Hard, fast, almost desperate. The sounds of their bodies moving together filled the room, and the bed creaked and rocked underneath them. She groaned, gripping the sheets as tightly as she could to keep herself steady. It was delicious, and she could feel another orgasm hurtling through her.
“Yes, Razor!” she screamed as he hit the perfect spot inside her, sending her flying over the edge.
“That’s right, Karissa, give it to me,” he snarled. His grip on her hips tightened to the point of bruising, but she didn’t care. The only thing that mattered was that her entire body was lighting up from the inside out as wave after wave crashed over her. And when he grunted her name and came inside her, she moaned and fell headlong into yet another orgasm.
She collapsed forward onto the bed, her body a puddle, and her mind blank. She moaned when Razor slowly pulled out of her, closing her eyes when he walked away, too tired to keep them open any longer. She didn’t even stir when he gently swiped a cool cloth between her legs to clean her up.
Before she could drift off to sleep, Razor lifted her up and pulled her into him as he lay back in the bed, pulling the covers up over them. She laid her head on his chest, content to listen to his heart pounding beneath her ear. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt this relaxed or content. She could get used to it.
Or at least she could if Razor didn’t ruin the moment by talking, but it looked like she wasn’t going to get that lucky. Whatever happened to men refusing to talk, she wondered.
“You going to tell me what happened with you and Sena?” he asked quietly.
She let out a soft groan. “Can we talk about it tomorrow, Razor? I’m exhausted, and I’ve talked enough for one day. Besides, I’m sure Code has dug up all kinds of dirt on me and what happened, and he would have already told you.”
He was silent, and that was confirmation enough for her. She knew he wouldn’t be able to find anything about her work with her former team, because those records were either deeply hidden or didn’t exist. “But I haven’t heard it from you,” he said after a moment.
She gave a soft sigh, tilted her head back to look at him, and saw his serious expression. She wasn’t sure she wanted to rehash it, but she had just agreed to give a relationship with him a shot, so that meant she to share things and communicate. She pulled away from him, sitting up to put a pillow behind her, and leaned back against the headboard. She tucked the sheet around herself so they weren’t easily distracted, and asked, “What do you want to know?”
He watched her quietly, then asked, “I want to know what happened after she stabbed you. How did she find you?”
“Hard to believe, but I wasn’t always careful like I am now,” she answered honestly. “I got complacent, sure that she would never get out. She broke into my little apartment and was waiting for me. Told me that she had lots of time to plan while she was in there, and she wasn’t going to just kill me outright. She was going to wait until I got comfortable.”
“But you never got comfortable,” he guessed.
She shook her head. “I knew she was serious, and I took it even more seriously. I didn’t know when or how she was going to strike, so I started training. Took every class I could find to help with my strength and fighting skills. I went to a gun range and practiced for hours until I was drawing, firing, and hitting my targets with precision and speed. I wasn’t going to leave anything to chance. The hardest part was not knowing when she would strike. I slept with my gun under my pillow for years, and there were times I was sure she had been in my place, but she never tried to hurt me if she was. Or maybe she was just trying to fuck with me some more, I’m not sure.”
He shook his head in disbelief. “I can’t believe that she was sane enough to let out.”
Karissa shrugged. “She knows how to play people. She’d been doing it all her life, from what I heard in the trial. The hardest parts were the animals she killed and left for me.”
He jerked a bit. “What?” he asked in confusion.
She nodded. “I knew she was around because she would kill a cat or a dog and leave them outside the door. Then she would leave a note that said she was watching me, or she was coming for me. I always felt horrible. Those poor animals didn’t deserve that.”
“Sick bitch,” he said darkly. “She’s the one that needs to be put down.”
Karissa agreed. Sena was never going to stop until someone finally made sure she couldn’t hurt anyone, or anything, ever again. “That wasn’t the only thing she did, though,” she sighed. If she was going to tell him about Sena, she would have to admit to a few other things too. He arched a brow at her, but kept quiet, waiting. “She also made sure I knew she was around by killing women that looked like me.”
He stiffened and straightened. “What?”
Karissa nodded. “The first time she found me, she killed a woman in town that looked like me. Same hair color and eyes, and we had a few facial features in common. The woman was on her way home from the bar and Sena took the opportunity. Stabbed her close to thirty times in a dark alleyway. The cops never caught her, or even knew it was her, but she took great pleasure in leaving me a file with the pictures and notes from the police report. She included a note saying that she couldn’t wait to do it to me. Freaked me out and I left the next day. Just packed up what I could and I left. That’s when I started my training. The next town, she killed a woman that was coming home from the gym, but this time I didn’t run. She got pissed and killed another woman, and this time she did it in broad daylight, near a grocery store, and they almost caught her.
“She sent me a note once she was out of town that she would be back for me. I left not long after, and I sent the information and the notes to the cops, but I didn’t want to be involved. I couldn’t be. I moved around a lot, and that was the last time she killed someone, but I wouldn’t put it past her to try again. Especially now that she’s here and she’s pissed. I think she’s done playing. She’s ready to kill me, and I’m not about to make it easy on her.”
He reached out and pulled her over into his lap, and she stiffened slightly. “Settle,” he murmured, rubbing a hand over her arm soothingly. “She’s not going to touch you, Rissa. Because you’re a badass and she’s picked the wrong person to mess with. You’ve been proving that for years, and she’s starting to realize it. Now, not only does she know you’ll be damn hard to take out, you have me and a whole club at your back, ready to fightwithyou. We won’t let her win.”
Her heart constricted and a warm sensation filled her. She believed him, and it was kind of nice to know that she had backup again. And this time, she had someone who was willing to let her lead and not control. At least, she hoped. Because if he tried to push her aside, she was going to enjoy taking him out at the knees, her man or not.
She didn’t need a man, and she wouldn’t ever let herself forget that.
