“I’ll handle it,” Warg said as he came back into the room. Razor nodded, glancing over when the rest of the men arrived into the room.

“How did she get out of here?” Karissa asked, more to herself, as she looked around the room. “She didn’t come out again, but she’s not here, so there has to be another way out.”

“Under something, maybe?” Razor suggested. The room was so small that an exit should be obvious. He glanced around, but again, nothing stood out. The room only had a cot, a small table that Sena apparently was doing more drugs on than eating, and a bookshelf in the opposite corner. He frowned as he looked at the bookshelf. Why would a bookshelf be here? He’d think a TV would provide more entertainment, especially since there were no books on the shelf.

He headed toward it, ignoring the conversations around him. He looked at the shelf, taking in the way it was poorly constructed. Almost like it was done in a hurry. He carefully ran his hand over the shelves, but felt nothing obvious, so he moved his hand over the back of the shelves next.

“What are you doing?” Karissa asked as she came over to him.

“Seems odd, don’t you think, that there’s a random bookshelf down here with no books?” Razor mused. “If you’re going to hole up here, you should at least have something to do.”

Karissa made a noise of agreement. “Unless this is only a temporary spot. They could hide their drugs or whatever else they sell here.”

“Possible,” Razor agreed, but then he felt it and triumph rushed through him. It was small, subtle even, but it was a latch. “But it’s also the door out of here,” he said as stepped back and gestured for her to see for herself. Her eyes widened as she stepped forward and felt along the shelf where his hand had been.

When she stepped back, she grinned up at him and said, “Glitch was right. You’re not just pretty, you have some big brains in there.”

Razor rolled his eyes at her. “I think you spending time with Glitch again is a bad idea.” He turned and called out to Simba. “Found our exit,” he told the other man.

Simba listened as Razor told him about the latch at the back of the middle shelf, and then he nodded. “Alright, let’s see what’s on the other side.”

Razor stepped back, happy to let them take the lead again. He knew Karissa was itching to take over, but he admired her restraint. He just hoped they weren’t running into a trap on the other side.

It was Vulture’s turn to make the breach, and he carefully pulled the latch. The sound of the latch moving filled the space, and Razor braced for what they would find on the other side. The hidden door opened and Vulture stepped through. Razor was instantly hit with the smell of tomato sauce, and his mouth watered. Damn, that smelled delicious, he thought. He waited as Vulture moved in, and when he stepped back, he said grimly, “She’s not here, but this door leads into the storeroom in the basement of the restaurant. And there’s a door on the other side, which leads to the outside loading area on the other side of the building. That’s how she got out.”

“Alright, come back in; we’ll get some pictures and head back,” Simba said. “We know where she’s hiding, now we need to figure out where she went.”

Razor nodded and followed them out. As he climbed out after Karissa, taking a moment to admire the roundness of her ass as did, he also wondered just how many spaces like this were set up around town. He had a feeling that Fuzz’s operation was bigger than they thought. If so, they were going to have to deal with it once this was all over.

They didn’t let this shit fly, which meant Fuzz had a lot to answer for before they sent him to meet his maker.

When they climbed out of the hole and back into the alleyway, he saw Copper on his phone, expression hard. Dread filled Razor’s gut when he saw the look in Copper’s eyes. “We need to get back to the clubhouse,” Copper said grimly. “There’s been a shooting.”

Razor cursed. “What happened?” he demanded, already running for his bike.

“Looks like we know where Sena went, because someone shot at an Old Lady and the twins when they were outside,” Copper replied. “One of them got grazed, but I’m not sure which one.”

“Oh, fuck,” Karissa breathed. “Rogue’s going to lose his shit. We need to get back there now.”

Razor couldn’t agree more. He couldn’t help but worry they were driving right into a trap.

CHAPTERTWENTY-EIGHT

KARISSA

By the time they reached the clubhouse, Karissa felt like she was going to snap, she was strung so tight. Not only because of what happened to the girls, but also because she knew Sena was probably still waiting for them. She was fully prepared for the possibility that Sena might just shoot her as they drove in, and it was dark enough she would never see her. But she would take that risk.

She wouldn’t be able to live with the fact that one of them had been hurt because of her. Exactly what she had feared would happen did. Someone got hurt because of her. Because she brought Sena to their door. Rogue was going to kill her if Sena didn’t, and she wouldn’t blame him.

Determination made her gut hard as ice. This was ending now. This had gone on long enough. Too many people, and animals, had been hurt because of her. Sena needed to die, and she was going to be the one to end her. The only problem was figuring out how she was going to track her down, on the off chance that Sena didn’t shoot at her when they arrived.

As they approached the gate to the compound, Karissa realized something very quickly. She was surrounded by her team on all sides; there was no way for Sena to get off an easy shot at her without hitting one of them. Her heart pounded a little harder in her chest. This was why she loved her team, because they figured this shit out without her having to tell them.

Razor followed behind Simba, and Vulture was on her right, with Ursa on her left. Behind her were Taz and Jag, with Warg and Copper taking up the rear. Tom was at the gate and he already had it open and ready for them to ride through as soon as they reached it. She saw Razor give him a quick nod before they roared up the drive.

The clubhouse was brightly lit, and she could see people moving around inside. Razor pulled his bike up with the rest, and she barely had time to get off before he was scooping her up and carrying her inside, protecting her with his body. She wanted to yell at him, but now wasn’t the time. She wanted to check on the girls.

When they got inside, Razor set her down and she ran to where the women were all surrounding a tearful Esme and Scarlett, who were both being held tight by their men with murderous looks on their faces. “What happened?” Karissa demanded as she skidded to a halt in front of them.
