I can’t protect her if she’s not here. God knows where she’s gone. It feels like Erin all over again, but this time, I’m more scared than ever of losing someone. While I didn’t want any harm to come to Erin, I didn’t feel like this, as if my world would end if anything happened to her.
I call Massimo.
“What’s up?” he answers after the second dial tone.
“Ella. She’s gone.” I can hardly believe how panicked my voice sounds.
“What do you mean?”
“All her stuff is gone, and no one knows where she is.” I tap my foot on the ground. “What if Vishekov got his hands on her?”
Massimo clears his throat. “If he has, he’ll use her as a bargaining chip.”
My grip tightens around my phone. “I need to find her.”
“Why would Ella leave?” Massimo pushes.
“We fought,” I admit.
“About?”
I clench my jaw. “Our future together.”
“Shit. Why would you bring that up?”
I grind my teeth. “I didn’t. She did.”
Massimo clears his throat. “In that case, she left of her own will. Unhappy that you can’t give her what she wants.”
I growl. “Erin left for a vacation, and look what happened to her?”
Massimo exhales. “True. You want me to send a team to look for her?”
“Yes, but I want you and I to head up the team. Get our best men to our headquarters as soon as possible.”
“I’m waiting for an appointment at the fertility clinic. I’ll make the call, but I’m unsure how long I’ll be.”
Fuck.
I can’t wait.
“Okay, we’ll get a head start, and I’m going to drag Leo out of that fucking club. He needs to pull his weight on this.”
“Good call. See you later.” Massimo ends the call, and I try Leo’s cell, knowing he won’t pick up. It goes to messaging almost immediately.
“Fuck.”
I dial Secret Obsession, my club, and the manager, Kai, picks up. “Hello, Secret Obsession. How can I help you?”
“Kai, it’s Remy. Is Leo there?”
He chuckles. “Is the sky blue? One moment, I’ll pass you to him.”
“What?” Leo snaps.
“I need your help. Ella is missing.”
He sighs heavily. “I’m still pissed at you for fucking her.”
