“He’ll take care of me.”
It’s my turn to smile at her. “Which is why he left you without any protection, giving us the opportunity to snatch you. Look around. Do you see Adrian here?”
“No, I told him he should use me as bait.”
“Hmh.” I lift my brows as I shake my head. “You’re a fool.” I walk over to the cabinet and open it. Dominic is standing by the shed’s door, Dante and Marco behind him. I lift one of the hunting knives and see the propane torch. “Where did Adrian take Eliza?”
“Fuck you,” she says as she attempts to show me her loyalty to Adrian.
I stand in front of her with the torch and the knife, then spark the torch up. “The thing is, Blair.” I heat up the knife in her line of sight. Blair’s eyes widen and she intakes a sharp breath. “You’re going to tell me what you know.”
“N-no I’m not,” her voice quivers with fear.
I know I’ve got her now, and she will sing and tell me everything. “Have you ever had the stench of burning skin stuck in your nose?” She inhales deeply while keeping her focus on the knife I’m heating. “A putrid aroma fills the air, making your stomach roil and churn. It’s quite nauseating as it drifts through your body. It’s unforgettable.”
“I-I-I’m not s-scared of you,” she whispers.
“Yes, you are,” I reply as I continue heating the knife. “I’m going to hurt you, Blair, because of what you did to my girl and because you chose Adrian.” I’ve been heating the knife long enough to know it’s going to cause her skin to bubble as I slice through it. I look to Dominic and gesture for him to help. He walks over to her and waits. “Grab her head.” Dominic stands behind Blair and grasps her hair close to the scalp. “Tilt it.” He aggressively angles her head, exposing her neck to me. “Where is she?”
“I’m not scared of you,” she shouts.
“This is going to hurt.”
I lay the flat edge of the knife against her face and drag it down to her neck. The odor of burning flesh takes a few seconds, but the sound of her skin sizzling is instant. Blair screams and fights against Dominic’s vice-like grip. “Okay!” she yells.
I pull the knife off her face and motion for Dominic to release her. “Where are they?”
Blair’s a fucking mess, her cries are shrill. “All he said was something about Mars, or Neptune or something. It was a planet.”
“What the fuck is she talking about?” Dominic says.
“That’s all he said. Something about a planet. Please, that’s all I know,” she begs.
A fucking planet? It dawns on me where he is. I look over to Dominic and nod. “I’m done with her.” I stand back and cross my arms in front of my chest.
Dominic’s brows furrow, but he pulls his gun out and shoots Blair in the head. He looks to Marco and says, “Take care of this.”
My phone vibrates inside my pocket and when I retrieve it, I see another photo of my girl. She’s been stripped and hogtied. My jaw clenches as I stare at the photo. My phone rings and I answer it as I stare at the dead woman in my shed. “What have you done to Blair?”
“She’s here.”
The clear sound of him snorting more shit up his nose is enough for me to know the drugs have completely fucked him up. “The stakes have changed. I want her, and the business for your precious little slut here.” I hear something in the background then Eliza scream out in pain. “Did you hear that? That was my boot in her guts.”
“Where do you want to meet?”
“I’ll send coordinates soon.”
“I’ll be waiting.” I hang up and look to Dominic. “He’s on the Venus.”
“The fucker is using your own yacht to hold her?”
“If he’s on the yacht, we have an advantage,” Dante says. “I’ll log into the security feed.” He leaves the shed to head up to the house.
“He’s a fucking idiot,” Dominic says of his own brother.
“Actually, he’s not. Because I barely use the yacht, it means I wouldn’t have thought to look there. And it also means if anything goes bad for him, he thinks he can easily escape.” I look at Blair and shake my head. What a shame. I’m not someone who’ll kill a woman, but she was an accomplice in Eliza being kidnapped. And for that reason alone, she had to die. Dominic and I head up to the house, while Marco and Frank make quick work of Blair’s body.
“I’m sorry, Uncle,” Dominic says.
