“Sure.” Enzo chuckles as he stands.

As we approach, the girls turn and look our way. A smile covers Serena’s face, and her shoulders relax as soon as she sees me. My heart skips a beat at the sight.

She fucking missed me.

“Hey you,” she says softly as I take a seat next to her.

“Hey,anima gemella. How are you?”

“I can’t complain. This food is delicious.”

“It is. This is one of the places I wanted to take you.” I lean into her head, kissing the side of it.

I don’t miss the way Greer looks at us, a small smile on her face.

Looking around, I don’t see a server near us, making me sigh.

“I ordered you your usual when you texted me that you were on the way,” Enzo tells me.

“Thanks, man.” I smile. “I knew you loved me.”

Enzo rolls his eyes, muttering under his breath something about pain.

“How was Natasha?” Greer asks with a devious smirk on her face.

I feel Serena tense next to me as I shoot a dirty look at Greer.

“Your friend is fine. I don’t know what happened though to make the screen of the security system to crash. It was deader than a doornail,” I say, shaking my head. I turn to Serena and rest my hand on her thigh under the table. “Natasha is a friend of the girls. She owns a lingerie shop, and we do the security for her.”

“That’s nice of you guys,” she says softly as understanding fills her eyes.

I explained myself to her to reassure her. I needed her to know that Natasha isn’t a threat. She never will be now that she knows how I feel for Serena.

I nod before turning back toward Greer. “Natasha told me to have you call her. She thinks she has something that would bring Killian to his knees for you.”

“I’m sure she does. I’ll have to stop by on my way home.” She hums.

“Don’t go without little man though, she wants baby cuddles,” I tell her.

Greer rolls her eyes. “Never have children, Serena. As soon as you do, everyone forgets about you and only cares about the baby.”

“You’re one to talk. Remember when we brought Viola home?” Enzo scoffs.

“Who’s Viola?” Serena asks.

“My daughter.” Enzo jumps into the story about how he didn’t know she existed until a local from the village in Italy that they used to live in told Greer while they were visiting. They found her at an orphanage.

Viola is awesome. She’s selectively mute so she doesn’t talk verbally, but you always know what she’s thinking because of her facial expressions.

“That’s so crazy. I couldn’t imagine,” Serena says, shaking her head in awe.

“It was a crazy time, but we got through it,” Greer says as she bumps shoulders with Enzo.

“I wouldn’t change a single thing about it,” Enzo says.

Serena tilts her head to the side. “You wouldn’t take away her time at the orphanage?”

“As a parent, of course I would if I could, but logically, I know that if she didn’t spend time there then things wouldn’t have worked out the way they did. If I would have known about her from the beginning, maybe I would be in a loveless marriage with her mother and still living in Italy? Maybe I wouldn’t have met my wife, Danica? No, I think it all worked out the way it was supposed to.”
