I shrug. “They are good people. Now tell me, how was your night? Find anything?”

Serena snuggles into me. “No, it was pretty uneventful. It was interesting to see how the other side works, that’s for sure.”

“What do you mean?”

Serena starts running her thumb over my chest, and I don’t even think she realizes it.

“Nothing bad. Killian just met with some pimps and tried to convince them to warn their girls. They didn’t seem too open to the idea, so we did it ourselves for a bit before he met with the Jewish mob.”

“Ah, they are an interesting bunch.”

“Do I even want to know?”

“Narcotics, mainly pharmaceuticals.”

“Huh, I would have thought they were in the gun trade or something.”

“Nope.” I shake my head. “Crazy group though if you go against them. It went well though?”

“I didn’t listen in on that one but I’m assuming so. Killian said they are willing to help.”

“Good. Did you have a good time?” I ask as I twirl a piece of her hair.

“Oddly, I did. It reminded me a lot of when I had to gather intel undercover.”

I hum as my eyes start to feel heavy once again.

“Hey, Tris.”

“Yeah,anima gemella?”

“Do you have a couch or something here we can cuddle up on?”

I open my eyes and see that sleep is about to take her too.

“Come on,” I say, tapping her hip.

Serena crawls off my lap, and I stand. Taking her hand in mine, I walk down the hall into our bunk room.

“Pick a cot.”

Serena moves to the biggest one that can fit two people. Kicking off her shoes, she crawls under the blanket and taps the bed.

“Cuddle with me?”

“Don’t have to ask me twice,” I mumble as I take off my jacket and shoes.

I get into bed and pull her to my side. Serena places her head and hand on my chest.

I lean down and kiss the top of her head. “Night.”

“Night,” she mumbles.

Right as I’m on the edge of sleep, I could swear I hear her tell me she loves me.

I have no idea how long I’m out for, but something startles me awake.

With my eyes still shut, I listen and don’t hear anything. Even without opening my eyes, I know the sun is starting to rise because of the soft glow filling the room.
