“I’m fine. I’m worried about you. Fuck, I’m so sorry, precious. If I’d known you were behind me.”

I shush him, placing my finger on his lips and he opens his mouth, biting at it and grinning at me. There he is. Playful Seb is back in the room. He’s a scary fucker when he’s angry.

Archer clears his throat, reminding me that there are five other people in the room with us. “We’ll be in the den. Just come find us soon. Eliza.” He beckons her over and slips his hand in hers, guiding her out of the room. I remember then that we brought Ruby back here. She’s busy staring around the opulent kitchen with wide eyes.

“Come on, Ruby,” Vee says, winking at her. “Rafe and I will look after you, won’t we, babe?” The two share a look and Rafe nods his head, both their eyes fixed on Ruby. Strange. Rafe grabs her hand as he passes her and tugs her behind him as he exits the room.

“Vee!” Seb shouts to his sister as she leaves, and he cocks a brow at her.

“What?”

“You know what? She’s Mill’s best friend.” He gestures with his head at me.

Vee rolls her eyes and sticks her tongue out at her brother. “I said we’d take care of her, that’s all. You two just concentrate on each other and leave Ruby to me.”

My eyes flick back and forth between the two of them. I do not know what is going on. Although I heard every word they said, it was as if they were having a silent conversation in between the spoken words.

I arch a brow in question when he turns his attention back to me. “My sister has her sights set on your bestie.”

My eyes widen. “But isn’t she with Rafe?”

Seb chuckles. “Their set-up is complicated. Until they officially announce their engagement, they have an open relationship. They, err, like to share.”

“They do,” I say in shock and intrigue. “But don’t they get jealous?”

Seb scoffs. “You’d think so, but they trust each other, and I don’t know, it just works.”

I shake my head, trying to wrap my brain around what he is saying. “Well, she’s wasting her time. Rubes is one hundred percent straight.”

Seb bobs his head side-to-side. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that. I’ve never seen you look at another girl like Ruby was looking at my sister.”

I shake my head. He’s totally off the mark. He gently lifts my T-shirt and places the ice on my right boob, and I wince. “Ouch.”

He grimaces, and I can see the guilt wash across his face. “Hey,” I say, placing my arm on his. “It was an accident. It’s my own stupid fault.”

“I hurt you, Mills. I’m not okay with it.” His frown deepens and I reach out and flatten it out with my hands, making us both laugh. We are both quiet and for a second, just smiling at each other. Seb clears his throat and scratches the back of his neck. “Do you want a drink?” he asks me, turning away and escaping to the fridge.

I release the breath I’ve been holding the minute he turns his back. What was that? Butterflies erupted in my tummy and my heart races. I shake my head, trying to shake some sense into myself. It’s fake. Remember, it’s all just a game, none of it is real.

SEB

Ipark up outside the café and as I’m walking to the door; I spot her through the window. Mill’s is wearing that cute little uniform, with her pink haired tied up in a messy bun on top of her head. She is chatting away to a family she’s serving. I pause as I take her in, watching as a warm smile crosses her face. One thing is for sure, Mills is beautiful. Something changed between us last night. I can’t describe what it was. I enjoy having her around. I shake my head, smiling to myself, and open the door.

Her head lifts when I enter, and she offers me a genuine smile. Is Mills pleased to see me? Who knew she would go from scowling at me to giving me that smile that she reserves for the special people in her life? My eyes skim down her body. Jesus, her legs are heaven. I want to pick her up, sit her on the table and kiss my way up those tanned, sculpted legs until I reach her pussy. Then I’d spread her wide and eat her out until she’s screaming my name and begging for more.

“Earth to Seb.”

I blink. She’s standing in front of me, waving her hand in my face and laughing. “Where were you? You were miles away.”

I swallow and wink at her. “If I told you, it would make you blush, precious. You nearly done?”

She nods her head and brushes a strand of her hair out of her pretty face. Those lips are begging to be kissed. I spot a group of girls from school looking over at us with avid interest. That’s excuse enough for me. I lean down and drop a kiss on her lips. “We have an audience,” I explain.

She blinks and nods her head, looking down at her feet. “I’ll go finish up. Take a seat.” She scurries off with her head low and a frown on her face.

“Hi Seb.”

I blink, pulling my gaze from Mills. Tam stands before me, smiling up at me.
