“Or what?” she had asked.
“Or I’ll tie you to the nearest bed and fuck you until you accept you’re perfect,” I had promised.
I knew she remembered that moment as clearly as I did because her breath hitched and her pupils dilated as she stared at me. I took one step closer and she braced herself against the work table.
I held out the brownie in my hand.
“Take a bite,” I offered. “Go on. You know you want to.”
Her lips parted and she took a tiny bite. Before she could swallow it, I bent and kissed her. She tasted of chocolate and lust, a heady combination that drew me closer. I sent my tongue into her mouth to duel with hers for that tiny bit of brownie. She kissed me back ravenously, her hands curling around my shoulders tightly. I didn’t know if she wanted to push me away or pull me closer. Maybe, a bit of both.
I dropped my brownie and wrapped my arms around her as I kissed her with all the need and frustration that had been building up inside me all these days. Why was it that even when we tried our best, we couldn’t keep our hands off each other? What was it about her that drew me like a suicidal moth to a flame?
I’d give anything to carry her to my bed and fuck her until we’d exhausted this demon that possessed us. Although I had a suspicion a lifetime with Tia wouldn’t be enough to satisfy me. I leaned her over the work table and began to work my hand under her sweater.
A giggle broke through the haze of lust that enveloped me, and Tia gasped against my mouth.
“Daddy and Tia sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-ing,” chirped my daughter as she skipped out of the kitchen.
I groaned, pulled my hand out of her sweater, and rested my forehead against Tia’s.
“That’s why we decided this was a bad idea,” she pointed out, panting slightly.
“So bad,” I agreed, as I pulled away reluctantly.
Every fiber of my being argued that this was agreatidea and that I was a fucking idiot for letting her go. But I had to grab my daughter before she announced to the whole world that her daddy was kissing her nanny. I left Tia in the kitchen and chased after Maddie, grabbing her before she got to the stairs.
I had to distract her before she could think more about what she had witnessed, so I took her to the playroom and spent the next hour or so helping her build the biggest Lego warship I had ever seen. Just when I thought we had dodged the bullet, Maddie raised the topic when I was putting her to bed later that night.
“Daddy, is Tia going to be my new Mommy?”
“What? Who told you such a thing, honey? Tia is your nanny, that’s all,” I sputtered.
Maddie shrugged and stared at me innocently.
“Mommies and Daddies always kiss each other. I’ve heard that in school. And until now, I didn’t have a Mommy for you to kiss. But now, we have Tia.”
I sighed as I realized that I had brought this on myself.
“Baby, Tia and I are… friends. While it’s true that Mommies and Daddies kiss each other, so do friends,” I explained, aware that I wasn’t doing a great job of it.
Maddie looked a bit skeptical.
“Hmm… so… can I kiss Dylan like that?”
Dylan was her best friend in school, and I would dismember him if he ever kissed my baby girl, but I could hardly tell her that.
“Maybe when you’re older. Much older,” I replied.
“Like seven?” she asked hopefully.
“More like seventy,” I countered firmly.
“Daddy! I’ll be dead when I’m seventy,” she argued.
“Well then, you won’t have to kiss anyone. Problem solved,” I said and stood up hastily. “Goodnight, Maddie.”
When I turned to the door, I saw Tia standing in the doorway, staring at me with an unreadable expression. Before I could say anything, she pushed past me without a word and went into the room to say goodnight to Maddie.
