“This one is by an old friend,” he says, winking at Casey, who groans and covers his face.

Knox’s grin splits his face. “What is she boys?” he bellows to our group.

“A miserable, mopey chick,” the men at our table shout in unison, and then proceed to razz Casey while me and the rest of girls on our table look on clueless.

Scott, Jason, Troy, Theo, Gunner, Callan, Hollywood, and Rex absolutely lose it and end up in fits of laughter over some joke they’re all in on.

“It was hard to find a song by Adele that’s not depressing as shit, but actually, this turned out to be perfect,” he laughs.

“This song is for you and your beautiful wife, brother.”

The crowd cheers and our boys compose themselves. Chloe whips out her phone and sets it to record whatever is about to happen next.

“This is gonna be good,” Coralie says from beside Casey, snuggling into Gunner who steals a kiss as she looks up at him.

Hollywood lifts up his phone as it lights and then quickly places it back down, shooting Jason a look I can’t decipher.

Rex scoops Chloe into his lap. Lexie and Theo are melded together facing forward. Jenna claps excitedly, which draws my eyes to her side of the table where not surprisingly, I find Scott’s gaze locked on her profile. Troy nudges me, indicating he just saw the same thing making me chuckle.

My insides warm, taking in the people around me who have so lovingly welcomed me with open arms. And after everything too.

“God, I love Knox’s voice,” Anna coos beside me.

Casey holds Anna tightly as Knox effectively pours Casey’s heart out. Knowing the trauma Anna has suffered, it’s actually very fitting for them as a couple.

“Oh, Pixie,” Lexie smiles, turning to her best friend.

I wish I could freeze time. Freeze this moment right here. Surrounded by his friends and family, watchingmy man, slay a song that speaks of a love so strong.

As I stare on with rapt attention, Knox’s gaze finds mine and he somehow ramps it up even more. No longer singing for just Casey and Anna, but also to me. For anything that comes our way in the future.

Then in a blink, it’s all over, and he’s taking a cocky bow and shooting finger guns at some of the rookies like the showboat he is.

The chatter continues around us, and the MC calls out the name of the person taking the stage next, but it all just becomes background noise.

Our friends—I think I can call them that now? Congratulate Knox as he skirts around the table to get to his original seat next to me.

He sits down, drawing me into a hot kiss that sets my blood alight, flowing like lava until I’m practically clawing at him.

“Knox,” Casey says like he’s said it a few times, his voice drawing me back to reality, and I yelp and pull away in embarrassment. My cheeks blaze as I blink away my lust filled haze.

Casey stands arching over Anna and I, pulling Knox up into a hug.

“That was beautiful Knox. Thought for sure you were gonna do Bon Jovi or Def Leppard.”

His eyes widen, “I literally just wrote ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ on a song slip.” He wraps his arm around my neck and pulls me into his side.

“Of course you did,” Casey says with a chuckle.

“We should do a duet,” he whispers against the shell of my ear.

I shake my head, “Maybe next year.”

“Your voice haunts me,” Knox says, blowing a long breath.

“It does?”

“Yeah, When I heard you sing that song the night we came to the club. I felt like I was being sliced open. You sang every word like you were sending out an SOS.”
