Xavier pulled his little red car right up in the driveway, threw open the door, and promptly hollered. “Ohhhhhh this is nice!”
I could hear him from inside the door. If we had neighbors other than Bellamy and Aaron they wouldn’t need an alarm clock. I opened the front door, ready to scoot him inside.
He stood there, looking between our two houses and said something to himself. I couldn’t quite hear it, but I watched his mouth move.
“You comin’, or what?” I laughed.
He moved then, hips twisting and arms pumping. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and crushed my body to his.
“Hey, baby.” He said rubbing my stomach. We stood there for a moment, until Finn came out with my flip flops and asked if we were ready.
Once we were settled in the truck, me in front with Finn and Xavier in the back, Xavier started firing questions.
“What kind of look are we going for? Or is it more of avibeyou want?”
I looked at Finn, it was his house after all.
“What?”
“Are you going to answer?” I asked.
“I figured you would.”
“It’s your house.” I whispered.
Finn pulled the truck into the closest parking lot and put it in park. When he turned to me I shrunk a little in my seat.
“Uh…Finn,”
“No.” He put up a hand effectively silencing my words. “It’sourhouse, Firecracker. And I do not want to hear you say otherwise again. Understood?”
My eyebrows must have kissed my hairline with how shocked I was. Finn always had a dominating presence, but hot fucking damn. That was…
“Fucking hot.” Xavier blurted, as if he’d read my mind.
Finn turned in his seat giving him a glare, “And you,”
Oh no, I felt like I needed to say something, to save Xavier from whatever Finn was about to unleash, but he surprised me again by saying, “Whatever you do, don’t let her hold back. I’m buying whatever she wants. No matter the cost.”
If I could have seen Xavier I would bet money that he had his hand on his chest, like it was trying to pound out of it.
I had to admit, it was sexy as fuck seeing Finn attempt to get along with my friends, and get stern with me. A girl could get used to that.
The furniture store Finn drove us to was enormous. Bigger than some showrooms Bell and I had been to for bridal events. They had sections for all of the rooms of a house.
Even pool houses, guest houses, dog houses. Who the hell bought this stuff just for dogs?
Rich people.
There was no way I would pay for anything in this store on my own. There weren’t even price tags on items! Just serial numbers and color coded stickers. That’s when I knew shit would be pricey.
The showroom floors all boasted different styles. From modern to eclectic, farmhouse to industrial. There was so much to look at I didn’t know where to start.
We stood there for a few minutes, Finn at my back, Xavier to my right.
“Holy furniture.” Xavier mumbled.
Finn chuckled and grasped my hand. Threading our fingers together he led us toward the first display of bedroom suits.
