And now it’s like he can’t get enough of me. We fuck two more times in the night. The first is slow and sensual, he makes me come with his mouth, then his fingers, and then slips easily into my wet pussy. The second time my big spoon fills my ears full of worshipful whispers, while he reaches around to make me come with his fingers, before he slides into me on our sides and comes with quick and jerky thrusts without even rolling me over. When we are spent and exhausted and wrapped in each other’s arms I don’t know who falls asleep first, but I wake up to an empty bed but the glorious smell of coffee. I find another robe draped across the foot of the bed for me and pad barefoot into his main living area. He’s set the table for Christmas breakfast with an array of platters. There’s fruit salad, bacon, and a Christmas quiche. The light on his Christmas tree twinkle, a star shining bright at the top.
“Good morning, Saint Nik.” Krampus says without turning around. He’s facing his stove and flips a pancake. “You’ll stay for breakfast.”
“Is that a question or an order?” I ask.
He doesn’t look at me but I can tell he’s smiling. “Your deal is complete you don’t have to do anything else that I say.”
“Oh.” A twinge of disappointment touches my belly.
“I have a present for you.”
“You do?” I look around the room. There’s nothing under the tree.
He points his spatula to the mantel of his fireplace.
There, beside the stocking that I made for him as a child now hangs a second stocking. It’s large and red, with a black letter N sewn on.
I swear, I stop breathing for a moment.
“Krampus, you made this?” I touch the edge of the fabric, the stitching is uneven, the letter slightly crooked.
Handmade. For me.
“I want you to know that you always have a place here Nikki. Always.” He walks up behind me, slipping his hand around my waist.
“Thank you.” I say, there’s a moment that I am pushing back tears. “I didn’t think to get you anything.”
“You gave me your trust.” He murmurs into my ear. “That is worth everything.”
I fight the urge to roll my eyes. He presses a kiss to the back of my neck. Lighting up the nerves there. “I do trust you, Krampus. With my body, and my heart.”
“I will do everything I can to take care of you Nikki.” He sucks in a deep breath. “I love you.”
I jerk around to see if he is serious. His eyes are golden and dilated.
“I’ve loved you ever since you broke my nose.” Krampus says with a smirk.
“I didn’t break your nose!” I protest, somehow for getting about his proclamation. “You lost control of your sleigh!”
“You took that turn too fast, it threw me off course.”
“My sleigh made the turn just fine. You lost control because you couldn’t stand to lose to a girl.”
He chuckles, his knuckles grazing my chin. “You want syrup on your pancakes?” He starts to turn back to his stove.
“Wait. Did you say that you love me?” I realize as he starts to walk away.
“Since we were children.” He sighs. “I feel like I’ve been chasing you our whole lives. You’ve always been ahead of me, better job, better home, better life. You were always winning the race just around the next curve. I cannot fathom that I may have finally caught you. But, I want to spend every Christmas with you. Every holiday with you. I’ll come in second in every race for the rest of my life, as long as it’s you that beats me.”
“I’m sure you could find ways to beat me sometimes.” I grin.
His smile turns lascivious. “Maybe I can, after pancakes.”
“Wait!” I catch his wrist tugging him back to me and smashing my face against his chest. “I love you too.” I say quickly the sound muffled by his body.
“What was that?” He whispers into my head.
“I love you. Okay? Of course I do. That’s what you see in my aura that confuses you. That’s the weird pink glow you saw.”
