“I don’t think you would.” He doesn’t want to hear her screaming my name multiple times a day while I fuck her like an animal.

“And I’d be more comfortable if we have our own space, Pierce.” She walks toward him and takes his hand. “I’m not abandoning you. I’ll be over loads.”

Pierce’s expression is solemn. “It sure as hell feels like it.”

Avina shakes her head and grabs his hands, forcing him to look at her. “I will never abandon you, Pierce. I’m going to be living just down the road.”

He nods. “I know. It’s just going to be weird living here alone.”

“So we sell, and you can get your own place?”

He looks up, brow furrowed. “Makes sense. But it’s in such a shitty state.”

“I can help fix it up,” I say.

Avina’s eyes widen. “You’d do that?”

I nod. “It won’t take long. It’s mainly cosmetic, and I’m good with my hands.”

Pierce’s jaw clenches. “I said I’m no longer friends with him.” He nods at me. “I’m not working on this house with him.”

“Think about it. You’ll need the help,” Avina says.

He’s angry right now, but he’ll calm down.

“I’m going to pack a bag and go to Nyx’s place. See what kind of dive it is.”

I smirk. “It’s not great, but as you say, you don’t live in a palace.”

Pierce glares at me. “Fine, see you later.” He slumps onto the couch and grabs his burger and fries from the takeout bag.

I follow Avina upstairs. “He took it better than I thought.”

Avina swallows. “Yeah, I just hope he comes around.”

Once we enter her room, I grab her waist and push her against the shut door.

She yelps in surprise. “What are you doing?” she hisses.

“We’re not going to live in my apartment for too long. I’m going to do up the cabin. Make it nice for my princess.”

Avina tilts her head. “I thought I was a hellion and not a princess?”

“Hell has princesses, too, Avina.” I kiss her. “What do you say? Would you like to live in the woods with me?”

Her eyes dilate. “Something tells me we’d play a lot of hide and seek.”

I smirk as she’s so freaking perfect. “Yeah, we will. And every time I catch you, I will breed you like a wild fucking animal.”

She shudders. “Good.”

I bite her bottom lip enough to break the skin and swipe my tongue over it, tasting her metallic blood. “Such a good girl,” I murmur against her lips. “Are you sure you’re ready to handle my true depravity?”

“Yes.” Her answer is assertive with no hesitation. “We’re both a little fucked up. You may be much more twisted than me, but I am too.”

“I know, baby. I knew it the moment we met.”

“I wish you hadn’t taken so long to tell me.” Her brow furrows. “And maybe lives could have been saved.”
