“It’s not a name, it’s her tag.”

Okay, now I’m confused.

“Does any of this fucking matter?” Tanner asks, his voice booming to be heard over everyone else.

All attention returns to him.

“I don’t need a rundown of the techno-geek hall of fucking fame. What I need is information that helps me bring down Paul, Scott, Hillary and possibly the governor. What do you all have on that?”

“Oh, well, shit,” Ames blurts out. “Why didn’t you just say that? I know for a fact that Paul guy likes to hang out in the back rooms at Myth all the time. And it’s not with some chick named Hillary. But I can tell you he’s a pervert with a capital P. Fucking weird one from what I’ve heard.”

Every person turns to look at Ames.

“How the hell do you know who Paul is?” Shane asks.

“Context clues. Seriously, you people talk a lot. Paul was the guy Damon and Shane fought at Myth. I happened to be dancing on the second floor that night, so I saw the entire thing. And I recognized Paul because, like I said, he really likes those back rooms. Us dancers see and talk a lot. We’re not just nice asses wiggling in our cages.”

Shifting in his seat, Damon attempts to peek at her ass. “I mean—”

She smacks him upside the head. “Behave.”

I swear, the minute I get her alone again, I’m going to tie her to chair and demand to know everything that she has going on with Damon. They play a good game of keeping up appearances, but there’ssomething.

Tanner again. “Can you get cameras into those back rooms?”

Ames smiles. “Sweetie, I can get whatever you want into those back rooms. Just name it.”

You can almost see the moment all the parts fall into place in Tanner’s thoughts. His dark eyes brighten, and his expression takes on so much satisfaction, you would think he just succeeded in world domination.

“I know what to do. It won’t destroy Scott, but it’ll bring the governor, Hillary and Paul to their fucking knees.”

“Awesome. Give us our marching orders then so we can get back to work. You know, in the firm we own and run,” Gabe reminds him.

Waving that off, Tanner uses his damn pen like a laser pointer.

“Jase, keep tabs on the governor’s acquisition of that commercial property. I want to know when the closing date is and when and if they plan some type of bullshit event to celebrate the sale.”

Pen to Ames. “You need to go back to work. We’ll have someone there at all times just in case Scott or another of Governor Callahan’s henchmen decide to show up. If Paul shows up to use the rooms, I need one of the girls who works there to be ready for whatever show she can put on. I need it filmed.”

“No worries on watching me,” she interrupts. “Granger won’t let anybody near me.”

She’s not wrong on that.

“I don’t care.” Pen to Damon and Ezra. “One of you is at Myth at all times while Ames is working. Don’t let Paul see you.”

Pen to Shane. “I need whatever videos were taken the night you fucked Hillary.”

My eyes widen at that, and Shane glances back at me and mouthswe’ll talk about that later. He gives me a quick, innocent smile before turning away from me again.

He’s damn right we’ll be talking about that.

“Emily, I need the insurance information you have on Everly from the car accident you had with her.”

The pen swings to Mason. “I need you to manipulate that insurance information to list a specific address.”

Pen back to Taylor. “You’ll need to manipulate some videos when we have them then hack into the guest list for the sale event of that property when it occurs. Make sure all of us are on that list.”

Sawyer pipes up. “What about me?”
