“I have a lot of questions we’ll get to later. But know that I’m not going to make you a prisoner.”

She snorted and tried to bite him.

“Jesus, woman. You bite me, and I’ll knock you out.”

She felt her already agonizingly twisted stomach tighten more, making her nauseous. She decided to cool it because if he did knock her out, she’d be totally defenseless, and she couldn’t let it happen. She’d bide her time and strike at the first opportunity.

Chapter Seven

Drew answered the phone on his way up to the bedroom.

“Yes.”

“Hey, Boss, it’s me.I spotted two guys. They look like they’re canvassing the area. She’s going to get off work soon. One is in her apartment now. What do you want me to do?”

“Cops?”Drew turned and headed for the door.

“No.Definitely not cops.”

“I’ll head that way and head her off in the alley.I’m also sending other guys to help.I want the two men, and if there are more, I also want them.Take them to the warehouse.”

“You got it.”

Drew stuck the phone in his pocket. He reached the first car and sped out of the driveway toward the club.He needed to get in place before she got off work, and he wanted to ensure the men didn’t grab her before she got to him.

He parked a few blocks away and moved in the shadows until he found the perfect place to snatch her.The little shit fought more than he thought she would, and although he enjoyed the wrestling match, he’d much rather have it in private and with their clothes off. He’d make her enjoy it enough to want to do it more.

Vance pulled up, and Drew pulled her into the back.

“Let’s get out of here,” Drew said.

“You got it.”

The man still had his arm around her.

“You can let me go now,” she said.

“I’m good.It won’t take us long to get home.”

He felt her legs shake.

“Babe, everything is going to be okay.”

“You kidnapped me off the street. How is that okay?”she asked.

“I’ve had a man watch over you since the other night.”

“Why?”

“Because I know something’s going on with you, and I’m curious and want answers.”

“Listen, Mr…”

“Drew.”

“What?”she asked.

“My name is Drew.My family owns the club you work at.Newman knows me.I’ll let you call him tomorrow and ask him questions. Now, tell me your name because I know it’s not Scarlet.”
