I chuckle slightly before pressing my lips firmly against Lucille’s head, breathing in her scent. That fucking delicious sweet rose scent that makes my mouth water. I hold her close to me, reveling in the feel of her body pressed so tight against my own, willing my cock to disengage from its apparent need to jerk at the most inappropriate of times while I allow Lucille to take the time she needs in order to collect herself.
“I can feel how hard you are for me Linc,” Lucille whispers into my chest, catching me completely unprepared as I all but growl into her ear.
“Watch your mouth, sweetheart. Unless you want me to fuck it while your brother watches.” Pulling her harder into my body digging my fingers into the flesh beneath her shirt. Lucille looks up at me and as I gaze between her beautifully innocent eyes to her perfectly rounded lips I summon all of my strength to pull myself away from her. The sudden loss of her body on mine practically aches in my chest but I can’t do this right now. I need a clear head. And I know she’s just looking for a distraction too.
“Lincoln,” I hear her call as I turn my back to her. I’m losing myself in all of this, I can feel my sanity slipping through the cracks. I shake off Lucille's advance as she moves to stand in front of me. I daren’t look at her face to see whatever it is that's plaguing her right now. All we need to do, and all that I should be concerned about right now, is figuring out a plan to rescue Teddy. I squeeze her hand to let her know I see her and make my way over to Max who has already mapped out our route to the tip off address.
None of us are prepared to acknowledge the fact that this could be a set up and we could be walking into a deathtrap. Even though Cole seems to have abandoned us, I don’t believe that he would stand by and watch while we got slaughtered. Though I don’t dare voice my concerns in front of Lucille, who seems to be fairing pretty well all things considered. I know Max is on the same wavelength, even suggesting that it may be best for Lucille to leave while we tried to plan out how we would extract Teddy from the house. Obviously she refuses, arguing her point to stay so she knows what is going on, and neither of us have the heart to deny her of that.
“Got everything we need?” I ask as Silas throws a large duffel bag full of ammunition down onto the desk as he re-enters the room.
“And more,” he smirks, “fuckers won’t know what hit them.”
“I thought you said we couldn’t go in all guns blazing?” Max states looking a little concerned as he eyes the bag.
“This is just a back up plan.” Silas replies, holstering a pair of Glock G19’s on either side of his body before strapping a switchblade to his ankle.
I follow suit, walking over to the bag pulling out my own switchblade and shoving it into a leather cuff under my own gun that's already concealed underneath my arm. I catch Lucille’s eye as I strap another Glock to my thigh but the look on her face is void of emotion.
“Felix has sent over the most recent blueprint he could find. By the look of it they’ve done some extensive remodeling to the basement level but there’s a few places they could be keeping him.” I inform Silas, holding up my phone to show him the images.
He nods his head slowly, taking in the blueprint, formulating the best plan of attack for this particular mission. His brain works like a goddamn machine when it comes to work like this. If there was anybody I’d want to get lost in a maze with, it would definitely be Silas, because his problem solving brain would get us out of there without issue.
“We go in through the back door, because if this isn’t a set up, they won’t be expecting us but I’m sure they’re not stupid enough to not have somebody watching the front door. We move room to room and sweep the place floor by floor, working our way up. I think they’ll have him locked in one of the bedrooms rather than the basement considering Ronan’s objective. We need to stay silent, undetected and we need to stay vigilant.” Silas rolls off, switching fully into his leadership role.
He glances over to Lucille as he continues. “Our main goal is to find Teddy and bring him home, and we do not leave that house until we’ve secured him. Do I make myself clear?” His eyes are on me now and the room is completely silent.
“We’re not coming home without him.” I nod, ignoring the searing gaze coming from Lucille's direction.
At my words, Silas strides over to Lucille, capturing her face with both hands and slamming his lips down onto hers.
“I promise you we’ll bring him home,” he affirms before kissing her again.
“I need you all home,” Lucille states. “Promise me that.”
I look towards Max who understands as well as we do that sometimes, you don’t always make it back from a fight like this. And with a silent message passing between us, he simply nods his head in my direction before I make my way to the office door.
“Let’s go.” I call over my shoulder.
“Linc, wait.” Lucille calls after me as she runs to the door, but Max is already in front of her, holding her back as Silas grabs the bag from the table and we slip out of the room while she begins to struggle against his arms.
“Promise me you’ll all come back to me,” she shouts desperately as we walk away.
“You could have at least said goodbye to her,” Silas sighs, shaking his head at me.
“This isn’t goodbye.” I state matter of factly. We will make it home to her.
Chapter 18
Silas
We pull up a few blocks away from the address and my mind is racing. Is Cole in on this? Is this a set up? Will we be bringing Teddy home for our girl? So many things are on the line with this all going to plan.
We make our way on foot towards the address. I look at Lincoln who is determined this is it, and we will all come back from this. He believes there is no other option. I have to look at the bigger picture. Being the one in charge has always made me see all angles, even if I am headstrong and rash at times.
Reaching out and touching Lincoln's arm I stop him from rushing in, I sigh. "Lincoln, let's just think about this. You go in and get Teddy out at all costs. That has to be your priority. Leave Ronan, Cole or any other fucker to me. I need him safe for her and I trust no one else to do that now."
He looks at me and smiles before it fades from his face. "Don't go being the hero, Si. She needs us both to come back to her, heck she needs Cole too and I'm determined to make that happen."
