“Your darling is in trouble,” said Mike.
“Baba!”
“NO! Don’t hurt my daughter,” he said pleadingly.
“Don’t hurt your daughter? You mean the way you weren’t going to hurt Sage Marshall? The things you said to her that you wanted to do to her? Like that? I’ve already killed your son-in-law and more than a dozen of your men. How many more would you like to see dead before I kill her?”
“What do you want?”
“I have the diamonds.” There was silence on the other end of the phone, then the sounds of heels clicking against a tile floor. “I see I have your attention.”
“Where are you?”
“Me?” laughed Mike. “I’m at your home.”
“No. Please, leave my daughter alone. I’ll meet you anywhere. Give me the diamonds, and I’ll leave Sage Marshall alone.”
“I have a better deal for you. You’re going to tell me where your scientists are, and I’m going to bring the diamonds to you and show you a little demonstration of what they’re capable of.”
“I need to make some preparations,” he said.
“You don’t need to do anything. Tell us where they are and where you are. Just for security, we’ll be bringing your little princess. Every time you do something stupid, I’m going to cut a piece of her off and save it for you.”
“Please don’t do this.”
“Baba!” she cried.
“It’s alright, my princess.” Car doors slammed, and they knew that Yun was on his way to where they would meet him. “I’m sending you the coordinates. You’re going to need a boat.”
The line went dead, and Mike glared at the young woman in front of him. Turning to the others, he waited for the coordinates to appear on his phone.
“You don’t need to look at your phone,” said Trak. Looking up, he was standing at the opening of the glass doors, pointing out to sea. A ship. A large luxury yacht was anchored a half mile or more from shore. Mike smirked at his grandfather, then turned to look at the others. Jax smiled as Mo, Robbie, Remy, and Gator walked into the house, followed by Luke and Cam.
“What? What’s going on?” asked Luke.
“We know their location,” said Mike, nodding toward the ocean. Luke groaned, shaking his head.
“How am I going to explain another fucking sunken boat?”
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
“You’ll carry the diamonds to him?” asked Sage.
“We will,” nodded Cam. “Luke and I have been sitting in the office too long. We need a little excitement.”
“No, you really don’t,” said Kate. “But I won’t stop you. I know you guys need to get out now and then.”
“You come home bleeding, and I’m going to let Cruz handle your wounds,” said Ajei, kissing her husband.
“I won’t come home bleeding, baby. I promise.” She frowned at him with a disbelieving look.
“I seem to recall your father saying that a great deal every time he left. I also seem to recall him coming home with more scars and wounds than anyone else.”
“I was just clumsy,” smirked Gaspar, slapping his son on the back. “I heard you and Cam were going. Be careful, and if you need help, we can still get there.”
“I know, Dad,” said Luke, hugging his father. “Thanks.” Kate and Ajei looked at Sage’s sad face, then back at the men.
“Sage, are you okay, honey?” asked Ajei.
