Much to my surprise, Andre picks up Angie and she lays her head on his shoulder. He gives me a tight smile before heading toward the exit with his drunk, estranged wife in his arms. Maybe...maybe they'll work things out.

"Come on," Brady motions to the dancefloor. "I want another dance."

Even though the music is thumping loudly, and Liam is drying humping some chick to our right, Brady and I sway slowly, lost in each other's eyes.

"What do you think about laying on a beach in Cabo in a month?" Brady whispers.

"I think it sounds warm," I laugh.

Brady twirls me before pulling me close to him again. "Brianna would love it."

"She would," I rest my cheek on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"We could take Steve, too," Brady suggests.

I quickly lift my head. "What?"

"I know he's afraid I'm trying to replace him," he frowns. "But I'm not. I know who Brianna's father is. Besides, I wouldn't want Steve to miss out on all the fun we'll have. You and Brianna are my family now. Which means so is he."

"He would shit himself," I tell him. "He's always wanted to vacation somewhere exotic."

"Then, he'll come, too."

"You're something else," I cup his cheek in my hand.

Brady bends and kisses me softly before saying, "I've been so lonely, Iz. I don't want anyone to feel the way I did. It was...too hard."

He doesn't want Steve to feel lonely.

"I'm starting to wonder if I'm the one who doesn't deserve you," I raise my eyebrows at him.

"No," Brady shakes his head. "You've always been out of my league."

I know that's not true, but I'm not going to argue.

"I love you, Iz," Brady runs his fingers through my hair. "Thank you for coming back to me."

I stand on my tippy toes and kiss him hard.

Chapter 34

"I can't look!" I hide my face in Brady's shoulder.

It's been five minutes since I peed on a pregnancy test stick and we're about to find out if I'm pregnant. If Brady's going to be a dad.

"I'll look," he says before kissing the top of my head.

I hear him inhale sharply and chance a glance. There on the stick are two blue lines.Pregnant.

Brady's eyes fill with tears. "You're..."

"We're going to have a baby," I laugh as tears stream down my face.

We jump up and down in the bathroom, celebrating.

I've spent so much of my life not celebrating the big moments—or the small ones. I'm slowly learning how to do that now. I'm also learning how not to disassociate from the Thompsons. They're not my blood family. My blood family died years ago. But they're my found family. The family that happened upon me and took me in when I needed them most. All they wanted in return was my openness. So, I'm trying. Brady's helping. Turns out that being loved deeply by someone has given me the strength to stop sheltering myself from the world.

"What's it say?" Mom pounds on the outside of the door.
