“I do.”

“Oh, thank God. I was so worried—”

“But just because I forgive doesn’t mean I’ll forget.” She closes the distance between us to pull me into a hug. “I’ll get my revenge.”

“What?” I question, leaning back to meet her eyes. “What does that mean?”

“Oh, Sammy.” She winks. “You’ll see.”

“Okay, you guys, I’m off!” I call from my spot in the entryway, dressed and ready to tackle another shift at the restaurant.

But Noah is the only one who walks out to see me off.

Although, both Seth and Grant do shout, “Bye, Mom!”

“Man, I feel so loved right now,” I tease, and Noah just pulls me into his arms for a hug and a kiss.

“Have a good night at work. I love you.”

“I love you too,” I whisper, but he doesn’t release me from his embrace. Instead, he holds me tightly for another minute or so.

“Make sure you take care of yourself, okay?” he questions. “Find time to take a break and get off your feet for a little bit. Eat something. Drink water. All the good stuff, okay?”

“I will.”

“Promise?” he asks, leaning back to lookinto my eyes.

“Promise.”

With one soft kiss to my lips, he lets me go. Though, he does give me a little tap to my ass as I head for the door.

I roll my eyes, but I also giggle and think, this man is my husband. How did I get so lucky?

As I head out of our apartment and onto the elevator, an incoming call makes my phone ring from inside my purse, and I pull it out to find an unknown number.

Every once in a while, when Mo tries to call me from La Croisette’s office, I’ll get this same unknown-number business, so I answer it.

“Hello?”

“Hi, is this Sammy Philips?”

“Speaking,” I respond as I step off the elevator.

“Hi, Sammy, this is Natasha Lovingfeld. I’m a reporter with theNew York Tribune. Do you have a few moments for me to ask you your thoughts onCluelessly Yours?”

“Cluelessly Yours?” I question, ironically clueless as to what in the heck that is.

“Brooke Baker’s upcoming novel.”

My sister’s next book is titledCluelessly Yours?Hell, I didn’t even know she’d managed to get another book written since she releasedBest Frenemies.

“I would just like to get your thoughts on the book,” Natasha continues. “And whether or not it lived up to your real life.”
