Lucian popped his head out of his office and glanced around until he saw us.

“Hey.”

Denise squawked and turned around. We’d thought we were the only ones in the building this late.

“Does one of you know a Cleo?”

“I do,” Denise said, standing, wiping at her mouth.

“I got a call from the front desk that some crazy person named Cleo was downstairs and wouldn’t leave.”

“What?” Denise and I said at the same time.

I tapped my pocket and realized my phone was at my desk. Oops.

Lucian walked over and opened the door just as Cleo was leaning forward to knock. She lost her balance and the two collided. Cleo swore, falling on top of him.

“Jesus, you're crushing my—”

“Hey, fuck you, man. I’m fine, thanks for asking, you douchebag.”

Shit.

Denise ran over as Cleo clambered to her feet and glared down at Lucian, whose mouth was practically on the floor. Oh. I knew that look. That was going to beinterestingto watch.

“Denise, you really gotta be better about your fucking phone. Hey, Fudge Pop.”

“Cleo, what’s wrong?” Denise asked.

Cleo was grabbing my computer and typing.

“I’ve been calling and texting both of you. Fucking workaholics,” Cleo was huffing, clearly upset.

“Cleo,” I said.

“Hey, don’t Cleo, her with that voice.” Denise raised an eyebrow, and I rolled my eyes.

“Denny, don’t start,” I replied.

“You both need to sit down. Wait, before you sit down, maybe you should grab a drink. Wait wait wait, no—”

“Someone needs to make fucking sense!” Lucian shouted.

The room went quiet, and all eyes moved back to Cleo.

Denise took a breath before saying, “Cleo, if you don’t spit it the fuck out—”

“He was recording. It makes sense, he was streaming, we came in and then—”

“Who was recording what?” Lucian asked.

Cleo ignored Lucian and looked right at Denise.

“Curtis was streaming some fucking game. Thenyoucame in. ThenIcame in. Babe, we’re kind of all over the internet.”

“WHAT!?” Denise screeched.

Cleo turned the computer. The title of the video was “Lying dude manhandles his fat girlfriend and gets his ass beat”.
