Page 39 of Shock

Moment of truth, Diego.

The reflective face cover retracts, and she gasps. We stare at each other until the guy that was all over her slowly approaches. I growl when his hand lands on her hip.

“You good Little Lady?” I want to knock his country twinge out along with his teeth.

“TAKE YOUR HAND OFF HER.” His eyes widen at my possessive anger tone.

“You know this man, Darling?” His lip twitches as a knowing smile forms on his face.

I take pride in the bruise forming on his jaw from the blow I delivered earlier. I owe him at least two more for touching my girl.

“Yes, she does.” I look at her face, which is part stunned and angry.

“Intimately.” That seems to snap her out of it.

“You fucking asshole.” She brings the butt of the shotgun down on my face so fast I don’t have time to block it.

Cowboy

“That’s going to leave a mark.” I chuckle and take the shotgun away from Shock before she causes more damage.

“Stupid piece of shit!” She kicks him next, and then I’m struggling to hold her and two fucking guns.

For the fifth time in ten minutes I wonder where the hell my useless prospects took off two. As if my thinking of that summons them, they stroll on by and stop cold when they see my situation.

“Where the hell did y’all go?” I shove the guns into one’s arms as I grab a hold of Shock and lift her off the ground.

“Easy Little Lady. I’d like to give my Mama grandchildren someday.” I place her on my hip like a toddler, facing away from me so her kicking legs do the least amount of damage.

“PUT ME DOWN KOOPER! I’M GOING TO FUCKING KILL HIM!” I shake my head.

“You need some real anger management help Darling. You ain’t killing that man. I am going to have him tied to your bed, though.” That makes her stop fighting me.

“What?” I laugh at her cute face and point to the man unconscious on the ground.

“Only one thing in the universe that could make you hate that man so much you’d wanna kill him.” She frowns and looks over at him.

“Love.”

Her head starts shaking, and before she can lie to me or herself, she drops to her feet.

“Yes, you love him. Square with that now. It’ll make the rest of your life easier. Now, let’s get him into the clubhouse before the cops show up.” I lift her beau over my shoulder.

“That his?” I point at the crotch rocket.

“Yeah,” she steps over to me and checks the poor man’s nose.

I’m one hundred percent certain it’s broken.

“You got to stop breaking the men you love, Darling.” I smile at her.

“I KNOW!” She starts to cry, and I sigh.

“You, grab the bike. Put it in the courtyard. Come now, let’s get him comfortable.” With one hand around the guy’s legs and the other on his woman’s back, I lead us back to the clubhouse.

“Thanks Kooper.” I nod.

“Nothing doing, Little Lady.” As soon as Seer sees us coming, his eyes widen.
