Her hair is as golden as her dress. It’s also wavy and long, but it’s when her aqua blue eyes lock on mine that I realize, and so does she, that I’m staring back at her.

I smile. She gives me one in return. Her face lighting up as she looks at me for a moment, and then she spins away as the girls are called to the stage.

She’s wearing a black mask.

Fuck, she’s a virgin, and she’s about to sell herself tonight.

“I’m bidding,” I say, turning to Oscar and wondering just how much she is worth. “What’s the average cost?”

“What the fuck, Oliver?” Nate says. “You don’t have to buy anyone.”

But I have to make her mine.

Thirty-three thousand dollars.

I swallow. What the fuck have I done? If I wanted sex, I didn’t have the pay anything more than for a few drinks with the puck bunnies who hang around the clubs they know we frequent.

“Here or at your hotel?” She whispers. Her gorgeous blue eyes are on mine as she awaits my reply.

She’s gone from the sexy siren, who turned heads as she walked around the club to a frightened bunny.

I’ve already told her I’m a pilot, visiting the area. I also made her sign a non-disclosure agreement, just in case I let slip exactly who I am.

“We’ll go to a hotel. This place is too sketchy for your first time.”

A swallow ripples down her throat before she nods. “Okay.”

I want to tell her we don’t have to do this, but the selfish side of me can’t. I want her—even if it’s only for one night. But tonight, she will be mine.

I take out my cell and send a message to Nate, telling him my plans and asking him to book me a room in the same hotel we’re already staying for the night. Nate has the details. His older brother, Beau, owns the hotel.

Nate, Oscar, and I are from the Hunter Valley, but each of us moved to New York for the game.

Once I send the message, I turn back to Taylor and take her hand. She gave me her name. I never gave her mine. Her teeth are chewing nervously on her bottom lip. “Let’s go.”

Only ten minutes later, I’m pouring us both a glass of champagne that Nate must have sent to the room.

A few glasses later and Taylor says, “This is feeling a little tense.”

I smile. “I’m nervous.”

She grins. “You are. Thank God. Me too.”

“You want to do this?” I ask, taking her glass and resting it on the table.

She nods.

I pull her to me, staring into her beautiful eyes again. It shouldn’t feel like this. Like I want more from her. We’re supposed to be two people who have an arrangement—nothing more. For that reason alone, I shouldn’t want to kiss her like she is mine.

My fingers entwine in her golden hair as I glide them through the soft tresses. Her gaze is fully on mine as our faces move closer and when our lips meet, I’m sure the world explodes around us.

Her hands glide up my chest, across my shoulders before wrapping around my neck. I’m six feet three and she’s much smaller, but as she tiptoes to kiss me, it feels like we’re made for each other.

I lower my hands, clasping her ass, smiling against her lips when her legs instantly lock around my lower back.

“Oh.” Her eyes widen. “Already hard.”

“I’ve been hard since I saw you.” I smile. “Do you want to stop?”
