‘Come on then, I can’t wait!” We got up, grabbing our coats and opened the door.

Outside the chillnight air and the rain stole my breath after the warmth of the hearth. Pulling up my hood, I decided for my first test to stop the rain from falling over us! My palms faced upwards, I drew a long breath, relaxing or sinking into my intention. Then a warmth travelled through my limbs, especially in my belly, then my heart. Breathing out, I saw it as done and opened my eyes and dropped my hands. He stood there and wagged his eyebrows, smirking.

It worked.

Neither of us spoke now, it was too exciting for words! Holding out his arm, his index finger outstretched, he did the same. Breathing, intending, releasing.

A small orange flame flickered on the wind from the end of his finger.

“What’s next? Make it bigger?”

“Yes. But don’t intend it too big, and aim a flame away from me please!”

Repeating the exercise, this time seeing a flame from his palm, he cast a fire that lit up the area. I watched as he exhaled, his lashes low, half-closed and the fire extinguished.

As he finished, I scanned the area. Though it was mainly cast in night shadows, I saw a spade by the side of the cabin. Doing the breathing technique, I visualised it in my hand, let the gentle heat travel through my limbs and then let go of the outcome.

He gawped as in the next moment the spade’s handle was in my hand.

“How can we find out if we can control another?” He asked wide-eyed.

“Well, I am not prepared for you to try that on me. It’s probably harder on mages and witches, maybe not vampires and humans, though. It’s given me an idea.”

As I spokethe rain above us fell once again. So the magic didn't last long. But it was a start. Part of me was exalted, the other tired but I wanted to explore something. Without him watching. But for now, we needed sleep.

Holding out his hand, “Come on sleepy head.”

I took it and let him drag me in and up the stairs.

My body yearned for that bed, it was so inviting, I could almost hear my limbs ache after everything I’d gone through. I guess being part wolf his stamina was ten fold of mine. Taking off my boots and sock, I stripped down whilst Lycaon had done that in seconds.

He pulled back the covers as he lay there.

Patting the bed, he frowned, “You leaving your underwear on, I was hoping to show you some magic of my own?”

“Ha, I’d never say no to that. It’s just what with everything we’ve been through,”

“I understand. You don’t want to get caught with your pants down. Come here, lover. I’ll soothe your worries away!”

As I climbed in, the mattress was that perfect match of soft, yet firm. “What’s up with you, Mr. Smoothie?”

He led back, arms wide, holding my gaze, “It’s just we’re here, in my home. Just us, in my bed.”

Then in an instant he’d moved, making mock growling sounds and clambering all over me!

“I don’t mean to break the moment, but,”

“Aha! I know what you’re going to say. Never fear, I am prepared! Unless, I’m sorry, did you want to sleep? You’ll have to excuse me. Some things are true of us. I do have a ferocious appetite. For you.”

I laughed, his pupils enlarged, eyes sparkling as he winked. His hair fell around my face as he led on top of me. I was tired, exhausted. But that was washed away with his naked body pressed on me.

But I decided to tease him. “I am tired, let’s just sleep?”

I watched the spark dim in his eyes, whilst at the same time trailing my fingers down his back, and grabbing his ass. Then tilting my hips up, I writhed under him, pouting.

“Not if you’re going to keep doing that. Do it again!”

Slowly I eased open my legs, fire burning through my core, feeling him between them.
