“Even if something like that happens, there’s nothing you can do about it.He already used the teleportation orb,” Mateo said, nuzzling my neck in what was supposed to be a comforting manner.
“Mm-hmm, besides, there is a tracking spell on him.If anything happens, we’ll be able to find him quickly.”Levi consoled.
Unfortunately, instead of comforting me, a shiver of desire went up my spine before I could stifle it.I placed my palm over Mateo’s nose and pushed his face away from the side of my neck.
“How about we give them three hours and then, if Alpha Timothy is not back, we’ll go searching for him?”Caden asked.
“Fine,” I said, pulling my wrist up so I could stare at my wristwatch.
“Okay, this isn’t going to work. You need a distraction.”Aiden said, standing up and pulling me out of Mateo’s arms into his.“Wanna dance?”
“Not really,” I said, pressing my face to his chest and taking a deep breath of his passion fruit scent that had a sweet tangy aroma to it today.
“Hey Levi, now is a good time to finish your story about the time Aurora tried to run away from home,” Mateo said, laying back on Caden’s bed with his hand behind his neck.
“No, no, no.Levi, remember what I said.”I squinted my eyes at Levi in warning.
“Sorry Mateo. As much as I would love to, Aurora already bribed me not to complete that story.”Levi said.
“Hey, that gives me a great idea. How about we play truth or dare?”Aiden suggested, as his hands wandered from my back to cup my butt.
I slapped his hand away as Mateo snorted, “Childish.”
Caden sat upright and said, “I think it’s a good idea. It’s a great way for us to get answers to questions we are curious about.”
“I’m cool with it.What are the rules?”Levi asked, sitting up on the couch.
“If you tell the truth, Aurora will kiss you once and sit on your thighs until the next person tells the truth. If you don’t want to tell the truth, you can choose to do a dare but dares don’t have any rewards and you have to do whatever you’re told to do.”Aiden said.
“What reward do I get if I’m the one telling the truth?”I asked.
“A kiss from all of us?”Aiden asked.
“Fair enough.”Caden nodded as Mateo sat up, slid to the ground to sit on Caden’s carpet, and used Caden’s thigh as a headrest.
“I’ll start,” Levi said as he sat up leisurely.
We all nodded as I pulled away from Aiden and went to sit beside Caden, staring at his hands that were combing through Mateo’s hair.
“Caden, truth or dare?”Levi asked.
Caden glanced at me with a smirk.“Truth.”
“Are you and Mateo together? Are you guys true mates?”
His question surprised all of us, and I glanced at Caden and Mateo, only to find Mateo staring at me.
“We’re not true mates ...and we’re not together ...Kind of.It’s complicated.”Caden said, rubbing his temples.
“Let’s just say ...we have an arrangement with Aurora,” Mateo answered for Caden, his eyes fixed on mine.
Even though his voice seemed confident, his eyes didn’t look very confident, so I covered Caden’s hand which had stopped combing through his hair, and said, “We do.”
“Is this the part where Aurora kisses me?”Caden asked.
“You didn’t even answer my question clearly. What are you getting rewarded for?”Levi complained in a disgruntled tone.
I chuckled as I sat on Caden’s thigh, pecked Caden’s lips, and then lowered my head to place a kiss on Mateo’s forehead.
