Seth wondered if he would get to see him dance, but he didn't actually want Theo dancing with someone else. As guys were giving Theo interested looks and smiles, it worried Seth that he might go off with one of them. But he couldn't spend all night acting like Theo was his territory and all trespassers would be shot on sight.
A gorgeous black girl gave Seth a quick smile, but she saved the brighter version of that smile for Theo. He caught it but then turned and gave a tall, muscular guy an appreciative once over. Maybe he was sending that girl a message that she was barking up the wrong tree. Or maybe the message was for Seth.
Theo kept pushing him to go after different people and Seth had to wonder what the heck he was up to. Was Theo trying to get rid of him so he could have his own fun?
With the noise of the club, he couldn't exactly ask Theo about it. Seth knew he couldn't do things with anyone else though. A lot of people played at sex, just did it for fun, and that might be fine for them, but Seth knew he couldn't go about it in that way. Theo was on his mind all the time, wanting him was eating him alive. This was not the kind of thing Seth could play with or it would kill him.
Theo didn't feel the same way. He wanted to let loose and maybe do something with one of these guys. Seth had no right to stop him, but he knew his face was still wearing the All Trespassers Will Be Shot sign every time any guy looked at Theo.
Turning his eyes away, Seth noticed that some people were going somewhere in the back. It was probably where people went to make out, but it had to be quieter there.
Grabbing Theo by the arm, Seth dragged him back there. Theo glared at him but didn't shake off his hand. Out of the corner of his eye, Seth saw couples pressed together in the shadows, but he ignored them.
His attention was on Theo as he demanded, "Why did we come here, Theo?" He knew he was picking a fight, but he couldn't leave it alone. There were just times when Theo made him feel like he had to prove he had a spine.
"To have fun if you can figure out how," Theo told him crossly.
"I'm thinking you just wanted to get me laid so I'd leave you alone," Seth said and hoped Theo would deny it.
"What? I don't need to get you all the way out here for that."
Seth tried again. "Maybe you wanted to bring me here to show me you have plenty of other options when it comes to guys."
"I need to show you that? You couldn't figure it out yourself?" Theo asked him raising his chin. "You sick of being wrong yet or you want to keep going?"
"You're the one who's wrong about me. I don't need to be with other guys or girls."
"I'm enough for you? Am I that special?" Theo's eyes challenged him, but Seth didn't say anything. He couldn't tell Theo that he was. "You don't even want to dance with any of them?"
"I can't really dance," Seth told him.
"So if I ask you to dance with me, you'd say no?" Theo asked.
That wasn't something Seth could refuse. "I would with you, but I'd end up embarrassing you."
"There are plenty of straight guys here, at least half of them don't know what they're doing on the dance floor," Theo told him.
"I'm not straight," Seth said a little too hotly, but Theo just raised an eyebrow.
"Come and prove it then, or do you have some reason you want us to stay right where we are?"
Seth did consider it, but he didn't want to be doing things with Theo with all these other people around. "I'll dance with you," Seth told him, and Theo took his hand to lead him back to the main part of the club.
Theo backed toward the dance floor pulling Seth along with him. Mesmerized, Seth didn't take his eyes off him. Theo drew him close, not an inch between them. When Theo started moving, Seth moved with him. Seth tried to dance the best he could, so he let Theo's body guide his movements.
Here he was dancing, but he didn't feel self-conscious because all he saw was Theo dancing in front of him, against him.
Theo was incredible and Seth wasn't the only one who noticed. The DJ smiled and winked at Theo, and Seth pulled him in tighter though there was already no space between them.
"Not getting possessive, are you?" Theo asked right in his ear, but Seth didn't let go.
Theo was dancing with him and only for him. Other guys eyed him, but didn't approach.
They danced until they were exhausted and then headed back with Theo at the wheel. Now that he wasn't watching and feeling Theo dance, Seth had to consider how he behaved. He always wanted Theo to think he was better than he was. He sure failed at that tonight.
"I know I was acting like some territorial beast. I wasn't trying to keep you from having fun. Sorry."
"Is that what you were doing?" Theo said and gave him a teasing smile.
