He hung up and turned his attention to me. “Hey, lady.”

I smiled. “Tyrus thinks we’re having an affair,” I said.

He chuckled, shaking his head. “That man, I swear. The things that come out of his mouth.”

Grinning, I asked, “You guys okay here?”

Raleigh nodded. “Yep.”

“Bael still an angel?”

He raised his brow. Bael was a very calm, quiet child. No one had heard his wail outside of those who had been at Haven that day. Much to Tyrus’s dismay. He desperately tried to convince Bael to make the sound. I was fairly convinced that Bael found him funny.

However, Raleigh never forgot.

“If Tyrus has his way, he’ll be a demon,” Raleigh said. His smile suggested he didn’t care in the least.

Chuckling, I held up the flower. He looked at it, slightly perplexed. Even when I offered it to him and he accepted it. Raleigh studied it for a minute before raising his eyes to me. “Do you want to have an affair? Is this some weird, angelic courting thing?”

I laughed and shook my head. “No, but I’ll be sure to let Tyrus know you offered.” He smirked, crossing his arms over his broad chest and bringing the flower to his nose. “So, we didn’t actually have a bouquet at our ceremony,” I said. “I know we’ve talked about celebrating our marriage with everyone at some point, but there always seems to be something more pressing going on. However, I’ve wanted to give yousomethingsince then. My gut says that it should be this dark as night flower.”

Raleigh grinned. “You wanted me to be your matron of honor, didn’t you?”

“Only if you had agreed to wear a dress.”

“Don’t think I wouldn’t. I’d rock a fucking dress.”

I laughed. “Actually, that’s my bouquet. I’m giving it to you and House Darkyn.” His eyes went to mine again and remained there. The teasing fell away as he studied me. “You’re next to find your wife, Raleigh.”

His subtle inhale didn’t escape my attention.

“But I need you to do something for me.”

“I didn’t realize bouquets came with stipulations.”

Smiling, I shook my head. “Nothing like that. Just… When your wife finds you, be extra attentive to Tyrus. I know he’s pretty much an open book, but please make sure you’re paying extra attention to what he might not be saying. Okay?”

Raleigh frowned.“You’renot saying something.”

“I promised my friend that some conversations would stay between us,” I said. “So I’d appreciate it if you didn’t act weird or fish for something. Just pay close attention to him when your wife arrives. Okay? Please?”

He nodded. “While I should be offended that you think we wouldn’t, I think we’ve all grown accustomed to him saying whatever he thinks, even when it’s not appropriate.”

“Especially when it’s not appropriate,” I amended.

Raleigh snorted. “But you’re suggesting these will be things he doesn’t say so… got it. I’ll make sure.”

“Maybe make sure sooner than then,” I suggested. “Just in case you’re all musing over a wife and Tyrus goes quiet. Hm?”

He nodded slowly. Bringing the flower to his nose again, I laughed at how absurdly adorable this big man looked with a flower. Even a black one. “Thanks, Tatum. For the flower and the advice.”

Getting to my feet, I kissed his forehead. “See you later.”

“Bye.”

I hunted down Tyrus before I left. He got offended when I didn’t say goodbye. Poking my head into Bael’s nursery, I said, “I’m done getting pleased by your husband.”

“At least one of us is,” he said, grinning.
