“No, before that?”

His brows slowly straighten as a grin takes over. “I told you to marry me.”

“You’re supposed to ask,” I admonish.

He chuckles and presses his warm lips to the side of my mouth. “Will you marry me?”

Some of the post orgasmic haze clears, and I need to know, so I ask timidly. “Are you asking me to marry you to upset Dad?”

Aidan shakes his head. “My sweet fairy, I want to spend the rest of my life withyou. It has nothing to do with your dad. Not anymore.”

“But… you don’t know if I’m pregnant yet.”

“If you’re not this time, then I have to try harder.” To state his point, he shifts his hips, making me all too aware of his hard cock pressing firmly against my bum behind his trousers.

I bite my lip. “Maybe we ought to try now, just to be on the safe side?”

Aidan throws his head back and laughs. “Is that a ‘yes’?”

I nod, a grin spreading wide on my face as my heart somersaults in my chest. “Yes, Aidan. I’ll marry you.”

“I truly have corrupted you, you dirty girl. I love you.”

My heart skips a beat and my mouth drops open.He loves me?

“You love me?”

“Of course I do. I wouldn’t ask you to marry me if I didn’t.” With his head pressed to mine, his tone is surprisingly weak when he asks, “Do you think you could love me?”

Can I, after he admitted to tricking me for his own benefit? Who am I kidding, of course I can! I couldn’t stop if I tried.

“I’ve always had a crush on you. I thought it was still just a crush, but then…” I say and smile secretively.

“But then what?”

“But then you asked me to call you ‘Daddy’.”

Caitlin’s cheeks are still red from two orgasms in the small toilet. Not the most romantic setting for neither a proposal nor a celebratory engagement ride, but hell. She said yes. She squirms under my gaze as Rebecca clears her throat. Reluctantly, I shift my eyes over to my colleague. There’s a sheen of sweat on the poor woman’s forehead and she shifts on her feet, holding a sheet of paper so tightly, it almost crinkles.

I don’t know why Irene is here, but for once I don’t mind. She fixes Fin’s hair where they sit together in the love seat under the Georgian window. Caitlin and I sit in the chairs facing Finbar’s desk. I withhold the urge to grab my fiancée’s hand. Mysecretfiancée.

“Um, Fin’s project…” Rebecca wipes her palm on her trousers. “It got orders from the tax-free shops and Irish Giftware to the value of seventeen thousand two hundred and twenty euro.”

“That’s great, sweetheart!” Irene coos and kisses her son’s cheek. “Iknewyou’d do it. That’s a great income for you. It could go towards the deposit on the house around the corner from us.”

Fin preens under her praise, but Finbar Senior has his brows furrowed and nods for Rebecca to continue.

“Um… Caitlin’s project got orders from high street shops, Eleganto and Spances, and a few smaller Dublin based retailers to… uh… the value of sixty-five thousand one hundred and sixty euro.”

Catlin’s gasp mingles with the clang of Finbar’s letter opener. My heart is beating fast in my chest. This isn’t just about beating Finbar – Eleganto and Spances are Ireland- and UK-wide shops – this is the break I always wanted for this company. This is the beginning of a new era!

“Thank you, Rebecca. You can go back to your office,” I say, unable to hide my the excitement from my voice. Rebecca doesn’t need to be asked twice.

“Caitlin…” Irene says, her eyebrows raised high and a puzzled expression on her face. “I never thought… That’s… that’s very good. Well done.”
