“No, but they would need her number since it’s just a burner and not registered to a plan,” Eli tells us. “Not even her dad has that number.”

I grit my teeth in frustration. This whole thing is getting on my last nerve.

“Not to switch gears, but we also need to get back to Lynn soon if you want to break ground before winter,” Jagger lets me know, and I nod.

“I’ll call her tomorrow.”

Ground needs to break before winter if there is any hope of getting women into apartments rather than cots at the shelter before the cold comes.

“What’s going on at the warehouse?” Jagger asks, and my fists clench.

“What makes you think it’s any of your fucking business?”

He stands up and I dare him to step closer. I’m on edge and he’s pushing the limits. How I decide to handle Stephen and Mary is my business. And hearing that someone got Katie’s number andis giving it out to be traced doesn’t make me want to give out any information that isn’t necessary.

“Because your heads fucked until you get this shit fixed and I’m sick of it,” he hisses.

“Maybe if you fucks could do your job—”

“Enough!” Asher shouts, and I turn to him ready for blood. “What the fucks that noise?”

The guys go quiet and Asher looks like he might have a stroke.

“Why the fuck is Taylor Swift playing in my bar?” He growls as he storms out of the room.

Eli smirks as I catch his eye. “Fifty bucks Bianca got a hold of the music.”

Red appears in the doorway with a smug grin. “Fifty more says you’ll never guess what’s going on out here.”

I follow Eli and the others out of the office space and find a dozen people dancing on the bar. My eyes scan them and land on the only one that matters.

Katie.

The smile on her face as she laughs and sings with Bianca makes some of the anger disappear. Only to be switched out for my cock pressing against my jeans as her yellow dress twists around her knees.

“Maybe if you hadn’t pissed her off she would have put some panties on before we left,” Eli snickers.

“Get her the fuck down, now.”

“Do it yourself. I’m done being the bad guy. I kind of like her like this.”

“Showing her ass to anyone that sits too close?” I hiss.

He just laughs at me. I swear if I deal with one more smug look tonight, someone is dying.

“No,” he shrugs. “Happy.”

Eli glances at me and shakes his head with a sigh.

“You already spilled that you loved her and she knows about being married to you. Maybe stop keeping her at arm's length. It’s only punishing the both of you. And you’ve been a fucking dick lately.”

“Maybe if you and Asher didn’t have your hands on her every time I turned around I wouldn’t be in such a shit mood.”

Eli grins. “Jealous?”

Yes.

“Fuck you. You know you feel the same way I do. Are you really cool with Asher having her too? And pushing for me to go for it?”
